Come on, Barrtok, there is copyrighted music everywhere on YouTube, even by the artists themselves (e.g. Ithikon Akmeotaton, an incredible group from Greece led by a genius Kostas Karagiozidis) and when 3 such classic pieces are played, shouldn't the credit go to the original composer and performer? Timmons's versions are superior in every way. There's so much in jazz about what great sidemen were playing in a certain recording or performance without a real sense about what the music is about.
Why isn't Bobby Timmons's original recording of this, Moanin' and Dat Dere not on YouTube. They are so much better than any of the Art Blakey recordings in terms of subtlety, phrasing and overall coolness. Plus the album cover is probably the greatest of all time in jazz: This Here is Bobby Timmons on Riverside.
There has NEVER been anything in jazz as commanding as the Art Blakey press roll!!!!

Youtube is not a place to promote copyrighted music. I love the Riverside date but this version is huge (and synchronized (sweeeeeet)).
And it's Jymie Merritt on bass if i'm not mistaken.
