  • I have read quite some things of the tea ceremony. It looks so beautiful and elegant. I hope I can one day witness such ceremony.

  • what a beautiful ceremony :) i hope i can be part of one one day

  • @aoiahiru one thing is sure is that you dont understand anything to the real meaning of the tea ceremony. it is just a way to show your wealth. this is people like you who give a bad reputation to the tea ceremony. if your grand mother was really a tea teacher, which i doubt, seeing what you have done of what she supposedly taught you, she must be crying in her grave too. or crying at all if she is still among us/ have a nice life but change the tittle of ths video/ this is american tea showoff

  • @aoiahiru your answwer is just ridiculous. you do exactly the contrary of what you are saying and you are even proving it in your video/ you are just obsessed with money and the need to show it. the poor things are just as good as their petals. what does that even mean? and what does it have to do with the way men treat their women ?? are you taking drugs or smoking something ? that will be my last message , you are pathetic and my time is too precious to waste it here. one thing is sure

  • @aoiahiru i was born half japanese half french my grand mother is not a tea master but my grand dad is a somelier, just like the the rel tea masters you dont make money out of being an expert in wine and understanding it. i mean some do but those are never recognized by the profession. but my grand dad told me. you can drink a Mouton Rothschild 1945 (the best and evidently most expensive wine in the world) in a cup made of simple glass, or a cheap table wine in baccarat's crystal.

  • @lukkha1 it only depends if you like wine o you like crystal. it is very impressive to be an expert in wine or in crystal,or Chanoyu either require decades of trainning but the true expert will never mix them up one would take over the other and that is not the point. the better the painting the more simple the frame. and as coco chanel herself said, if the dress is too beautiful you wont see the lady if the dress is simple and perfect the lady will feel beautiful. それでは。。。

  • @aoiahiru among all the things rikyu said, two are extremely important for understanding Tea,. "a korai flower container a bokuseki and a hachihiraki raku bowl are all you need not to feel lonely and to make your guests appreciate and understand Tea". he also said "Though many people drink tea, if you do not understand the Way of Tea, tea will drink you up." Without any spiritual training, you think you are drinking tea, but actually tea drinks you up. mediate this

  • raku is very expensive in Japan and now a days tea utensils and kakimono, kabin and tea bowl is expensive..not something rikyo wanted, besides often costs a fortune to learn Chanoyu. Not all is perfect at it was during Rikyu time.

  • @aoiahiru i once was invited to a chaji by a very humble tea teacher in tokyo. she has been learning and teaching for over 60 years and was in her early eighties. the tearoom was buit in the asakusabashi area just underneath a suspended highway, the window overlooked nothing except the asakusa street scenery. it had no garden but she made a bokuseki for the occasion, a flower container hung to the pillar of the alcove and a black raku bowl. if you're a tea teacher it must ring a bell

  • @aoiahiru i mean It is not the kind of beauty that can be seen directly which matters, but the kind that can be seen by a mind that searches for the condition of beauty in an atmosphere and for a sufficiency of spirit. In other words, it is a beauty that is seen not with the eyes but felt. This is the 'wabi' of Rikyu, and wabi is perhaps the key word for understanding chanoyu. so, though i recognize you have a stunning room where you can drink tea, that is not a tearoom/ chanoma not chashitsu

  • @aoiahiru but precisely furuta oribe made teabowl inspired by "dixie" cups. he precisely such as rikyu wanted to enphasis poverty and find beauty in ordinary items. and so was supposed to be the tearoom. i suppose you've heard of wabicha. and the importance of the awase. even when hideyoshi had his golden tearoom built he also used tea ustensils made of solid gold only the bamboo ustensils remained made out of bamboo. so if you want a daimyo style tea room why not daimyo's tea ustensils?

  • @aoiahiru alrighty daimyo sama, rykyu must be crying in his grave. yes tea must taste better in room made of gold that's what hideyoshi thought. he ended up alone betrayd by his friends and paranoid

sorry tea is not caviar it taste good precisely because it is the drink of the comoners of the workers. and chinese people say , only the binjin can enjoy the taste . the brain is the key to enjoying tea not the purse

  • first of all tea was not drunk by comoners, was wildely available untill they started to grow it on a large scale in japan.

  • a simple bowl like raku or a perfect wabi sabi chawan bowl is expensive.imagine to buy a junk bowl and put it into a chanoyu settings? would you enjoy a tea from such junk? you can not even admire something like this bought for 500Y which is about 4 dollars bowl. So if you think of cheep, cheep, cheep you live in ilussionary world.

  • ichigo ichie is so much more deeper than just enjoy the moment

when i see this video i only see arrogance and the urge to display one's wealth, but the tea ceremony is something else , it can be performed in a hut with cheap ustensils and humble guests and teacher, rikyu's dream was to be able to understand the way of tea and create harmony peace respect and purity of heart no to have a tea room in malibu overlooking the ocean.if i want a teac that cheap i go to starbucks

  • Malibu and beach is not a right setting for tea ceremony. What do you mean cheep utensills? You go and buy a mass produced bowl for a tea, you are wrong!!!!! Beatiful bowl is expensive and is most appreciated for the art, beauty, naturalness, wabi sabi feeling. Now a days all those bowl are expensive stuff.

  • @Aspiret620 what i mean is that you just want to display your wealth you're at the opposite of the tea ceremony as rykyu intended, if you like the daimyo style just own it and enjoy it but dont pretend their is any wabi or sabi in it. i have shown your video here in japan to REAL tea ceremony teachers, they ALL laughed and said you were just too american and forgot your roots. ok enjoy your malibu tea house and expensive ustensils we enjoy the wabicha and real chashitsu here in japan

  • @Aspiret620 expensive Ssss...stuff how respectful of you to call it stuff. anyways farewell

  • @lukkha1 i'd rather drink from a teabowl made of plastic served by a real teishu rather than drink from one of rikyu's personal rakuchawan served by a fake teacher. you forgot the basis of the way of tea. but you live in malibu, who could blame you, just like red pine and momiji maple dont acclimate well to the south californian weather, so does the tea ceremony. enjoy your tea. i hope you find the path to the real way of tea some day. sayonara

  • i came across this by chance and am so glad that i sat down to watch it. i especially love the end part where she says to enjoy this moment now. very beautiful :)

  • It is also my dream to have a tearoom overlooking the ocean! Your tearoom and tea garden are absolutely astounding!!! Thank you for sharing!!
