Sales have been cut in half throughout the past decade and the general consensus is the obvious: subpar music.

If the major labels don't give in a demand for better music independent companies will put them out of business. They don't make the rules, the consumer does. This industry is dead.

@LadySaundra Songwriters Guild of America is one of many unions employed via contract to record labels like Geffen. That is why every song you here on the radio start sounding the same and it is also why none of the songs Orianthi wrote will be released to radio.Geffen is not willing to step on any union toes to support Ori , or any other band. Orianthi is currently working on 2 cds , 1 commercial tween girl pop and 1 rock instrumental , Geffen won't lift a finger to advertise her rock cd .
