That's not only Voltron....that was the original Voltron that aired in Japan called "GoLion".

"Dairugger XV", commonly known as "Vehicle Voltron", came 2 or 3 years later. However, this later incarnation was the most familiar to U.S. audiences. It was the first "Voltron" that I knew of, circa 1984. I liked "GoLion"...but Dairugger XV I liked even more because I'm a Space Opera junkie (i.e. Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, etc.).

In fact, it was sent to Italy and was dubbed in THAT country's language under it's original name. . . before the U.S. altered it from it's "true" violent nature, was then called it (according to the heretic popular beleif) "Voltron"!

Of course it wasn't. "Voltron" is the American name for "Go Lion" and "Dairugger XV". They were both Japanese anime's, originally. "Voltron" isn't a part of Japanese vocabulary, so you're point is pure sophistry.

"Go Lion" came out in 1981 in Japan. "Dairugger XV" came out in 1982 in Japan. WEP picked up on the concept and sold it to American audiences in 1984....and they decided that both series' be called "Voltron"

Wow, I've always been amazed at those with true artistic apptitude, being the mechanical type myself. Wonderful work, and a great throwback to what was once my favorite cartoon to watch.
