Allen is a genius. For one to combine such deep philosophical concepts such as existentialism with silly slapstick humor..... hysterical jokes married with morose Ingmar Bergman inflections....just masterful. One of the greatest film makers of all time, imho.
The first accordion dates to 1822 built by Christian Frederich Ludwig Buchmann. Given that this movie takes place during Napoleon's invasion of Russia in 1812, there could not have been a gathering with an accordion.
I LOVE the beginning scene with Woody Allen talking about his family! My favorite quotes are:
Dimitri Pietrovich! I would like to buy your land!
This land is not for sale! Some day, I hope to build on it!
He was an idiot, but I loved him.
AND
Of course, there was Old Gregor and his son, Young Gregor. Oddly enough, Young Gregor's son was older than Old Gregor. Nobody could figure out how that happened.
@NegusNegest At the beginning it starts with "Alexander Nevsky", not the score of the film of Eisenstein but from the Cantata op.78, I think("The Crusaders in Pskov").
4:01 is from "Scythian Suite" (Ala and Lolly) op.20. With this ballet Prokofief tried to make sth. similar as "Sacre du printemps". Allen chosed this special record because it´s played too fast, so whole is scenery remains redicoulous.
8:35 - "If could just see a miracle, just one miracle, if I could see a burning bush, or the seas part, or my uncle Sascha pick up a check." LOLOLOL!!! OMG!!! LOLLL!
By now the last golden streaks of the sunset are vanishing behind the western hills. Soon the dark blanket of night shall settle over us all.

Yes there is one. Europa, one of Jupiters moons. But they are still not sure if there is any liquid unter the ice.

For all Woody fans you must check out Jerry Rio!!!
at (Mr JerryRio) and the (Thyrdeye) channel. He reminds a lot of comedy lovers of a Woody Allen or Larry David type character and he is hilarious!
His interviews and "Man On The Street" segments are some of best comedy you will see online anywhere!

@NegusNegest It's "Troika" from the Lieutenant Kije Suite by Sergei Prokofieff. Most of the score in the movie in fact comes from Lieutenant Kije.
