  • mentira pura a onde um samuraia ia corre asim povo escroto

  • The first time Mr. Wu-Shu swung that stick the Katanas would have cut it in half! If this was real Bushido.

  • I'm no samurai or wu shu champion, but I'm pretty sure if they had proper katana's they would cut right through the staff and its holder. This is what Bruce Lee used to call "organised dispair."

  • Words trully cannot express how displeasing this is. These guys are swinging the bouken around like a baseball bat. To me this is very disrespectful to the art and for this to be even choregraphed is even worse. Someone who has been taught the way the sword or bushido wouldn't do this. The sword is the extension of the samurai's soul and body, it should be used respectfully and not be used as a idiots play toy one would get at a renaissance festival. Anyways I've got Jeet Kune Do.. later

  • @HinatasCrush "Ive got Jeet Kune Do" sure....sitting on the internet and writing a well thought out retort to a video paints a picture in my mind of a person who has the free time to do such things meaning you don't really practice Jeet Kune Do. Also, if you did you wouldn't care what a video displayed or what anybody said about martial arts anyway. Also, title doesn't dictate behavior. I've met people who have practiced martial arts for many years and have shit attitudes. Wake up....

  • wow realy nice show

  • wow stall high school

  • wushu students can not even imitate samurai style. pathetic. lol. T

  • these are not samurais !!

  • many things wrong with this vs, that is they are both wushu and they have practiced the exact sequence, the other is if that was some real japanese steel i wouldnt want to be the guy holding the bo staff cos it wud go straight through

  • @randyroo2 not exactly correct , however I can see your point . A bo staff in trained hands is just as leathal as a katana. Only difference are the risk factors in wielding the Bo staff .

  • all these questions for me since they all come from Japan or China or whatever..and im not from there .. so many i just watched different like kung fu .. or dunken kung fu and then samurai , washu , tai chi , karate ..and all of them have a history im love it.. i wish i could do 1.. :(

  • good but work on stances the fluidity from move to move

  • lol samurai style...hahahahaha..its not called samurai style

  • @Kazejori calm down this is not a real fight it is a weapon exhibition! And besides a real martial artist would not block a sword with a staff! thats just stupid! All he needs too do is dodge strikes. AND YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TO BLOCK BECAUSE THE STAFF HAS A LONGER REACH DUMBASS! THE STAFF WIELDER WOULD WIN BELIEVE IT OR NOT YOU COCK MONGLER!!!!

  • hello?? people?? in case you forget, this is just a display of skills,,, not a real fight, so no need for a metal staff...

  • Thise 2 pleople doesn't even know how to move their feet in the kenjutsu way, let alone swinging the katana. That's a crap.

  • another VS video , why people is obssesed to prove that some style is better than other???. Its pointless. Every art have something live with it

  • this isnt a fighting match but a perfomance to show the skill level of the staff user. most people get mad

  • I do Kenjutsu for a couple of years now and I can say: there is now way a plain staff-fighter can stand up to a samurai or someone trained in real sword-fighting. The staff can´t block the sword without being split in two. So you need a metal staff or a staff that is reinforced by metal parts. But that would be far to heavy. If the staff-fighter doesn´t make the first hit he just can hope that the sword.fighter is a real retard, or he is done for.

  • well , heh you know bruce lee would porb. win against a swordmaster just with a mere bamboo stick .what im trying to say is that you need to conquer the strenght by concentrating on their weakness , which on a sword would be its flexibility and speed limits.

    cheers

  • that was poor you never run at someone like that in a fight i do not use wepons but the real reason why the guy with the staff won was 1.the staff is more longer and lighter than swords 2.they charged him enableing him see their weaknesses

  • Lmao dude you have no idea what your talking about. The staff is not lighter than a katana would be. And if you knew anything about samurai sword fighting, they charge eachother and strike with the entire body, not just arm strength.

  • It also helps that he fight is choreographed that way.

  • @HaiiroXE i like the staff more i bealive that the staff is more balanced a nd good for keeping your distance

  • well really a staff is more practical then a sword because how many people have a sword laying around ? any stick /pole can be used offensively

  • I am a kung uf practitioner but i think dat samurai can easily beat the shaolin when it cums 2 weapns

  • lmfao at spelling choice

  • @stampedeokoalas lol i know what you mean.... im laughing at his spelling too lol... cums 2 weapon.. lol

  • Why do you think that? It appears to me that Kung Fu use of weapons is super fast and aggressive, but Samurai (which is Jiu Jitsu based I believe) seems to be more slow...but I never actually saw a match between the two styles.

  • Any real samurai would win solo everytime over wushu but not these untrained guys.

  • kingquigg i would love to see you do any better

  • This video is fucking Stupid

  • This video is fucking stupid

  • Whaaaa was that>

    Do you really call that

Kendo(way of the sword in Japan)?

in other words, samurai style, feets, hands postion ang fighting position all wrong....

  • alextehwiz you've been burned! lol

  • @unggoymaster i think it would take more then that to "burn" me mate :), she finds it necessary to be an immature little prick that needs use the world "chink" even though she herself in probably one. She probably either is a stuck up spiolt little brat or she gets bullied and has to come online to make stupid little comments to make some meaning of her life.. hope she doesn't off herself :)

  • @alextehwiz Hopefully, you merely had a bad day. Otherwise you have some anger management to do. May I suggest a martial art that is meditation in movement? You are fortunate enough to live in an amazing country that has so far escaped too much urban industrialism, and the natural energy is easily accessible. Good luck! Zen

  • @zen4men lol, read what snipez850 said (him/her got banned, so it tells you something about their personality) and no im not angry :) i just find smart ass pricks truly annoying :) its going to take more then a few mere immature comments to do that :P

  • @alextehwiz I took your advice, and read S850s comments. Most people see an "event" between two people as one event - I see it as two events. S850 has his agenda, and is following his path / his karma. You have yours. They are different. There are only ever two choices - love or fear. Love has no need to attack, so as you attacked, your choice stems from fear. Of what, is for you to know. Nothing is ever what it at first seems to be. Are you the man, the mirror, or the image in the mirror?

  • @zen4men I have no empathy for pricks that start shit from nothing.. "Acts of kindness may soon be forgotten, but the memory of an offense remains. "

I don't like how that prick talks to people and someone needed to shut him up :)

  • @alextehwiz What you resist, persists. What you rise above, is left beneath you. There are many ignorant people, but few who teach. Have your words taught S850 anything? I think not. Words divide so easily, but are spoken so easily too. Setting an example is more difficult, but worth it. Answer me this - is the way you spoke in words to S850 representative of your highest thought about yourself? Think about it ( I am off outside to practice my own martial art under the moon ). Good night. Zen

  • @zen4men Firstly, I think youtube taught him/her a lesson by banning his account :) and not alone for what he's said here ^^ besides i think he got banned before i replied to him/her..hopefully with their new account they will be more aware of how their words ffects peoples perception of their personality, your words are true.. but there are just some people you cant justify with words, their personality is sickening and the only way to eradicate is not knock some sense into the way they think.

  • @alextehwiz Your rapid reply just caught me before I left. However, I wrote "Think about it( I am off outside to practice my own martial art under the moon ). Good night" for a reason - to prevent a knee-jerk response. Your response is you as you think now, but maybe by tomorrow you may see things in another way. :-)

  • @zen4men lol np, i get what your saying, your giving good advice at all, and trust me i see it from all perspectives. OSunds like fun, good luck mate, i need to find something like that to do lol.. spending too much time on the comp ^^ gl and tc mate

  • that isn't sword... that's jo isn't it?

  • Don't call a video a VERSUS when it's clearly a pre-conceived pattern.

  • kung fu ownage long live southern style

  • wow i read some comments and i have to say u guys r worse then the anime nerds here in my city

  • what city is that?

  • well yh but it literally means the sword technique in japanese -thats why I was confused a lil

  • kenjutsu = sword technique right ?

  • Always a pleasure to see several thousand years of cultural hatred still going strong.

    (Sarcasm)

  • duilien basic :D

  • look too many ppl hav seemed to disliked me about sayin that japanese are bad fighters...i dont want that to happen so i will say that the japs are good but not better than china.....i wouldnt say that they suck or ppl start to hate again

  • How realistic

  • It doesn't really matter if someone is Japanese or Chinese. Both still need to practice to be good at martial arts.

  • true true but im half chinese and japanese lol

im only brown blet on karate took me 1 year i thnk and like blue belt on kung fu

like 1 year to 2 lol so im not pro but im ok

    practice everyday

  • *cough* kung fu depends person to person, luck, chance, reflexes, and maybe motivation... *cough* Chinese ppl shouldnt put down Japanese as there are half bloods. And I'm chinese and love japan. I ALMOST agree with Snipe XD. And frankly, chinese shouldnt say that japs invaded china cuz of ww2 dnt forget, we also colonized them for a while. And someone plz remove communisim! It hardly ever works >.>

  • japan is just trying to be china. if we had a war with japan they wud die. china fucking rules and are the best at everything.!! chinks rule the world!!

  • Conflict and compromise snipe...some Japanese are good In fighting....I have the right to spit at Japanese ppl cuz they invaded china but that's not part of compromise.....plz kno that I'm not white and I'm proud to b chinese

  • ohhh, so your chinese, huh? even worse. no wonder your hating you chink fucker. why do you chinks keep hating? its the friggin' pass, forget about it :/

  • cuz they're fucking socialists.

  • mayn shutup. chinese people are just jelous since japan is sexy and have everything<3

  • that's one of those most retarded statements i've ever heard, japan is well known for one of the most largest underground rape clubs you fag, no country has everything you must have a small brain if you think that. Each country thrives in their own way.. stop being an idiot.. China has great culture, to bad japan is trying to become mostly westernized.

  • hahhaa, yeahh, we're known for rapes and pedophiles, huh? ;D because japanese girls are deliiciioussss<3 japan isnt trying to become westernized, we aint like them american motherfuckers. where you from son?

  • I just want you to know that you're a complete dipshit.

And America owned your sorry ass country in WWII.

  • Everybody thumb-up this guy, he's made the most sense out of this shithole. I mean, argument.

  • I think by the time you decided you call others 'son' you're no longer at the age to argue with li'l kids.. ESPECIALLY over the internet..

  • he could b black :P

  • What does socialism have to do with anything?

You are aware of the true goals and principles of socialism right? It's an amazing system if executed properly, but the fact remains that humans are flawed and inherently selfish and lazy, therefore all the communist societies you see are people's interpretations of socialism and not true socialism.

Socialism is kind of a paradox in that it requires ideal humans to run it, but if we were ideal we would most likely have no need for the system.

  • well then that means that communism would be inhumane wouldnt it? or " unnatural for the human being, which is so lazy and selfish, and unequal and unfair to each other " ?

  • why the fuck are you getting involved white boy? this is between chinks and japanese, so keep your white little mouth shut, okay?

  • Leave it in the past eh? Yet you decide to use racist remarks like that to fuel the fire? How ignorant.

  • @SnipeZ850 wow dude your a fucking retard.. "japan is sexy and has everything?" dam that's something a stuck up dick head would say, stop being an immature little fag and accept japan for what it is.

the only reason why your trying so hard to defend this video is because you know how true our statements are.. if you really want to have a flame war id be happy to shut you up?

  • Comment removed

  • Japanese aren't really that good at martial arts.....china is made for fighting, japan made for their food....sushi is the best

  • Stfu beastmast3r... "japanese arent really good at martial arts" COMING FROM A WHITE KID?!!? LMFAOOO.. you don't know what the FUCK you are talking about. china can fight, but saying japan cant fight? LMFAO! you pathetic white kid... please die slowly

  • ur a bitch..i aint white...and leave my sushi and wushu alone

  • I don't really care either way, but I just want to interject that race doesn't really have a whole lot to do with it. "Coming from a white kid" isn't the most ingenious remark, because it could easily be a "white kid" who has trained most of his life and THEREIN mastered a martial art. Point being? Race is moot, training makes a master, not necessarily roots. :|

  • @samuellesays wrong again, black people are da kung fu masters. LOL jk

  • Comment removed

  • i disagree.. the japanese may have good swordsmanship but if u watch videos of jet li as a child u will see what power they have... and also rememeber the samurai are no where nere as fact as the shaolin.. but i guess all is an opinion.. shaolin forever i believe

  • Samurai were the best swordsmen. Enough said.

  • Wushu would beat both.

  • Shaolin would win a weapon-only fight against a samurai. They have a much more unpredictable and fluid method of combat style, whereas a Samurai uses honor and willpower, along with accurate swordsmanship to win a battle. I love japanese sword styles, and I practice it, but Shaolin would definitely win. The only thing I would never spar against would be a chinese pole. A sword-on-sword fight might be a bit more even, however.

  • That's simply being bias. Simply because you throw the name "Shaolin" in front of a martial artist, doesn't make them the end all be all of martial artists. If you want to go that route, I'd say Lama Warriors were greater than your average Shaolin Monk.

The Samurais were just as skilled, if not more so, in the art of war and fighting than your average monk. My money would be on a Samurai in a weapons fight than with a monk.

  • Shaolin owns samurai

  • Actually, no. You use the edge. It'd break the sword if you used the back. The back side is made of soft metal, so it would get cut easily. But if you block with the edge, you may get a little dent.

  • omg that looks like war memorial gym in maui!

  • i dunno why people keep downrating this, even though this is a routine and no sparring its still quite cool

  • não vi nenhum samurai ai...

  • from the looks of it i think he was using a staff. even if you were to compete a wushu style swordplay and samurai i dont think that would be so easy. their swords are desinged completely different where wushu has flimsy bendy swords made for snapping and rending as where samurai use katanas made of hardend steel.

  • Well... Wushu swords aren't for fighting. They'd probably break if they hit something. There's another version that's hard and doesn't bend, but Wushu performers don't use them.

  • yeah ive seen a wushu broad sword break in the middle of a demo before from snapping it to hard. i ment like the swords the monks use which are more durable. but are based on the same design snaping rather then solid. they do the twin hook blades which are solid though.

  • Ah, makes sense then :p

  • the japanese steel is the best,a real master of the katana is unbeatable, this bullshit in the video cant compare with kendo, iado sword-techiques.Katana cuts the wooden spears even metal,so if i was a judge in this show,i will give them the white belt again,or i would advise them to go for a ballet lessons.

  • chinese bamboo buddy, chinese bamboo. Enough said

  • a katana cannot cut a metal pole... it would shatter, you see, the high carbon cutting edge is designed to go through a person and maybe his bamboo armor, but if you try cutting a hard and more malliable substance it'll break because it's very brittle in comparison... like trying to cut a steel girder with a flint sword ne?

  • are you joking?katana designed for cuting and piercing both the enemy.how ever in front of a katana a bamboo armor was nothing, have you ever see a real swordfight with katana?why the the cutting edges of two katana in a time of impact between two fighetrs ,didnt make one tooth in the edges?why when the two katanas dint break?doth of swords are made from very hardened steel(i mean real katana swords).answer me about these two questions?i speak for real not inside the movies that we have seen.

  • Well, it'd severely damage the sword, but it wouldn't break. The inside of a katana is made of a soft, bendable metal, so it wouldn't break.

The edge would crack and warp though.

  • TaoTao, do u know what was the only style that beat Mussashi? Do u know who i am talking about?

    later

  • You are aware that the quality of the steel in Japan is fucking terrible right? The craftsmanship of the blades is great but the raw materials they had to work with were appauling.

  • Appariently you know nothing, so dont bother to post your profanity on something that dosnt need that here.

But thankyou for you opinion anyways. I am japanese and steel here is very sturdy very. My father comes from family of black smith (i dont think that is what is called because i dont know fluent talk).

    But i think your confused.

  • Actually, you're the confused one. I'm sorry, but I have to agree with SSJ5 Bob on this one. The quality of the original steel used for japanese swords were very poor unless refined properly; and even then they were less-than-adequate. The native metals of japan are very very poor indeed. However, once Japan established foreign trade routes, the original material for making Japanese swords was abandoned, and much more pure of iron powders were used instead. Just a bit of a clear-up here ^_^

  • I understand the reason why you aren't confused. cause you don't have any knowledge of Katana.

Japanese Katana's material is Tamahagane-the best quality of metals and Chinese is so good to making copies, but not Tamahagane.

  • I practice kempo, as well as the samurai sword technique... this video is bullshit.. the description says it all sword PLAY that has no technique...

  • Awesome. This was chinese with "ken" .The demo is about tehnique not the style of the stupid samurai. So no offence but this is kind a cool. And you little stupid kids stop putting sensles coments about aniemes and that sort of stuff.

  • ahahahahaha it's funny

     LOL

  • stupid shit...why bother doing this shit

  • Samurai? What Samurai? There were only wood sticks in that video, no samurai swords.

  • if you read the info, it says samurai STYLE swordplay. it says nothing about actually using samurai swords.

  • you are right, but it is neither samurai style. To make it short: this has NOTHING to do with samurai. Not the style, not the swords, not the outfit, nothing...

  • this is obivously a chorographed fight...

  • That is not a versus battle. I know Samurai don't rush just like that. They wait.

  • Well I don't know if that'll happen with drunken fist I really know the moves piss you off too much man

  • that wasn't a katana that was a kendo stick or something

  • obviously == u think they'd be using real swords? == why would they use real swords? there would be an accident if they did

  • well it doesn't give you the velocity and speed a real katana would the should at least use plastic ones. Kendo sticks are too wide they slow down the speed a real katana would have

  • protip the katana is a slow heavy weapon stop watching anime its actually their equivalent of our broadsword

  • I know they're slow I've seen one in real life and I know that anime isn't real. I've seen people slice 3 pigs with it at a high speed.

  • to much deadliest warrior :p

  • yeah we should ask them to make one

  • sure. They don't have a balls to fight Samurai.

  • fuck you!

  • Sorry, but samurais have long since been out of use ever since japan was introduced to fire arms.

  • well actually if you think about it there are still many samurais since samurai simply means to serve, and many people in japan still practice samurai traditions because of the tie in it has with japans history.

  • bunch of kids, not samurai.

  • are u sure that's samurai? hahahha

  • this is fake...this is a show!!

of course the master will win to show the marcial art!!

  • omfg...and where is the prob with that.....?

the only prob i got with this that they call it "samurai vs wushu" and there is no wushu and no samurai at all.

  • and? i ask anythign to you??

OHHH no!! so just shut up! ;P

    and this is wushu!!

other thing, i say that is a show because some people really believe this is real!

  • katana fanboys failed this time!!

  • "yeah but nobody is gonna mess up their sword so they can cut a piece of wood. swords had to be earned, and they also went blunt pretty quickly"

actually no, bone is harder to slice through then a staff of that thickness, and thats what those swords were made for, bone, that guy would have gotten destroyed in 3 moves max

  • the art of the bo staff is the art of fighting hard and stunning. one hit with a bostaff is also deadly and if you hit your oponent first you may be the winner.

a sword weights about 20 times more then a staff so you wont ever get that fast.

  • actually, bo is heavier, and is usually also slower then katanas, but has a much greater range, wich makes it kind of hard to attack its wielder

  • you play lot of mortal combat right? you don't want to tell me a katana is lighter then a staff?! :)

that would be crap, realy ;)

  • no, i do not play mortral kombat, or any other game like it... a katana weights around 1kg (with the balance point not far above the tsuba, to allow it to be wielded really fast). The bo staff on the other hand weights above 1kg (lighter staffs could break on impact).

  • I totally agree

A Katana weighs around 1 kg, if this would be 20 times than the staff, the staff would have been made of air :D

The main point for the staff is its range an the velocity it generates during a round swing, but if you miss once, the katana is already too close for you to hit you critically.

If it's a wooden staff, the katana could easily cut it, if the angle is right.

There is not a superior weapon, it depends on the person who wields it ;)

  • wushu is not the best out there

its too flashy a kung fu style to actually hold application

and they were just swinging wooden katanas, true Katana wielded by a seasoned Bushido Practitioner would cut his bo in half along with any fleshy parts in range

  • I agree wushu is not the best.

But the flashy thing is what modern times have done to it. Its called contemporary wushu which in general is for show. Traditional wushu involves actual application in fights. In a whole string of moves, not all have to be used, only a certain portion is meant for use.

And yea, an actual katana could definitely do what you said. It is a powerful weapon afterall.

  • First of all Wushu is (2handed stick) is much more faster than a sword..

  • Any self respecting Bushido Practitioner would slice that '2handed stick' in half with the first swing, and more than likely deal a lethal blow with the second.

It can never be faster than a sword, unless someone with no practice is using the sword.

Argue however you want, it's a fact.

  • o.O wad do u mean 2handed stick? o.O [Is called staff...]

They are the same speed, depends how fast u can handle the weapon. Well for me Sword is easier coz itz lighter and staff is heavier to use.

  • really? isnt the whole thing wushu? not the literal meaning of wushu but the sport

  • no samurai are not wushu but wushu is the best out there

  • u sure?

  • Say, the part around 0:18, when the staff guy goes running towards the two so-called "samurai". Why didn't they split up, so that one of them could have got the staff guy's back?

That's so stupid and scripted. xD

  • And by the way, katanas would cut that staff anyway. x_X

  • yeah but nobody is gonna mess up their sword so they can cut a piece of wood. swords had to be earned, and they also went blunt pretty quickly

  • LOL

That's no kenjutsu, nor kendo. =O

In no "ken" style you move like those idiots did. It's just another video to promote a specific martial art for chrissake.

  • these are not samurai for christ sake there are no more true samurai's left in the world, though i do think the bo staff is an amazing weapon i still think the katana is the greatest of them all, i am not saying the samurai is the greatest warrior's i am saying the katana is the greatest weapon's , after all ninja's killed the samurai's like they were nothing, thats only because they got them off guard, 1 on 1 fight ninja would lose, and only a true samurai can "MASTER" the skills of a katana

  • I belive a staff master well trained could rivalise with a samurai (a sword master) but this is not the case of the video...

    Ninjas are samurai killers =]

the samurai age comes to a end, the powder age begins.

  • like a wooden staff would last long against japanese steel. maybe with a metal 3 section...

  • I hate to do this sort of thing... But wood could last. It actually all depends on how you let the sword hit the staff. Direct forceful hit on a straight path will cut the staff, but a defensive angular block would make the sword slide to the edge, or effectively block it. Unfortunately, it takes many years to master that type of blocking.

  • the katana nedds all the bodies power in 1 cut making it not so fast compared to the jain but the goal of the katanais "in on cut one kill" so .....

  • ring mail > samurai = lol

  • Samurais are easy. That's why they are extinct.

  • nice!!

  • If you give a sword to a man HE IS NOT A SAMURAI.

  • watching the end, theyre probably just high school kids doing a "demonstration" to try an get people into the kung fu club. I dont see why you're all getting puffed up and arguing, keep ur own opinion - and remember it the next time a insane samurai is chasing you down.. 'id be fine if i knew kung fu'

  • mb i meant 0:23

  • at 0:25 you could see that boi waiting to get hit down

  • lol what samurai?

All i see is 2 guys who can't even hold or strike with the bokken right.

  • you gotta a dam point wtf was that my cousin could do better and he only 5 0.0 dam thats dam straight embarrassing i mean come on if it was a real samurai that boi woulda lost his effing arms already while twirling that twig

  • a staff can't parry a katana.

  • can so if u do it from side

  • i mean im not talking down on kung fu it takes a lot of time and had work i think all these things need to be considered and respected

  • ok i see a lot of samurai bashing and i think thats totally unfounded what peaple like you tend to forget is that samurais were trained warriors specifcaly to kill who created karate and judo also they were primarily horse archers despite popular belief they were also skilled swordsmen and shaolin kung fu started out as form of meditation and a way to keep physically fit i think it depends on circumstances like how good they are no one style is the ultimate they all have strengths and weakness

  • Karate was not created by the Samurai. It was actually the Chinese visitors who came to Okinawa to introduce many Chinese form of combat arts, which later was modified into karate by the islanders not the Samurais. Judo did not exist back in the real samurai era, I think you were referring to Jujutsu which is more traditional than Judo.

  • im just gunna say that it is very coreographed, you can see the 'samurai' waiting for their attacks to be blocked.

  • dam straight point there

  • Haha what? Samurai xD

  • which one is samurai..

  • wow ppl just stfu about this man, u gotta respect every kind of martial arts, doesnt matter whether its good or bad. but i have to agree with style master, according to the ancient history the japs are indeed from the lands of china and their arts are somewhat like a copy of the chinese "Kung FU" not Wushu, Wushu is just a for shows and movies(just for looks) u cant really consider Wushu as a kind of marial arts and i have to say that a real samurai could own Wushu but not Kung FU cuz

  • i dont think any true samurai could own Bruce Lee, also do know that the true story happend in ShangHai: A martial artiest name huo yuan jia defeated every one in a martial art compitition including the japanese samurai..lol not to meantion they cheated by posioning Huo..wut cowards
