While I do strongly believe that Guild Wars is superior to all other MMO's when it comes to needing skill and thought, comparing GW and, say, WoW or WAR is like comparing apples and oranges. WAR is a great game. I've found that WOW pvp is based on gear, WAR pvp is based on skill. The game has come a long way since launch. If the expansion adds more items/crafting professions to improve the economy, along with more content, it will finally become the game it was meant to be.
@UltimateFighting1993 Ofc they have. Tolkien is the fantasyfather :D. He maded hobbits etc. Lotr storyline is awsome, so alot of games got ideas from him. World of Warcraft takes alot, but in my opinion Warhammer world is kind different to WoW and Lotr books. WoW has taken ideas alot from Tolkien and Warhammer.

Whats the point in arguing, your opinion is your own, you sure as hell aren't gonna change someone's opinion just by saying the other game sucks, you probably aren't gonna change anyone's opinion at all because many people are fixed on what they believe and will stay like that no matter how hard you try. Just like Xbox 360 vs PS3 it doesn't matter whats better, everyone prefers different things.
Oh, and by the way, about stealing ideas. Where do you think Warhammer got the ideas for "Elves, goblins, orcs, trolls" etc. They sure as hell didn't invent any of them. They were around in Lord of the Rings since the 1950s , and before that they were part of medieval lore. So no one really stole anything from anyone, they just used existing ideas that have been around for decades, possibly centuries.
I have both WoW and WAR neither of which I am playing anymore, here are my opinions.
Firstly-Warhammer has terrible animations, at first I tried to ignore them, but they make the gameplay look so god damn clumsy.
Secondly-Warhammer combat is extremely repetitive, there is little skill required to spam AoE abilities whenever they are up. Almost all abilities are DoTs or AoEs.
In WoW the abilities are much more complex and though requiring. Instant casts, knowing when to stun, when not to have
a DoT on the enemy, knowing what cooldowns the enemy has left so that you know if you can use your charge up attacks safely. ETC.
Warhammer would have been good if it came out pre WoW, but the fact is that it has came out 4 years after, and really is not better, not even close in terms of complexity.
The only thing Warhammer has on WoW is better graphics, if the more realistic style is what you prefer.
The game I am currently anticipating is Aion online, if you're wondering.

You do these instances for special gear, that will be fucking outdated in a week. WoW sucks bro.

Yeah, your totally right.. WoTLK kinda ruined WoW imo. I rememberd in lvl 70 the pvp was awesome and not many people raided BT/SWP but now like 95% of all the people who got a lvl 80 are running Ulduar25.
Man, the same thing happened in the past. I was avid pre-bc raider, back when WoW was more casual. Now raiding feels drudgingly boring with too many idiots. WoW would be alot better if it weren't for the community, and War is for those who prefer PvP over PvE content.
With that being said, I "ranked" up a Bright Wizard to 32, and got terribly bored with the game as a whole. The game just isn't as "smooth" as WoW :\

Yeah, pretty much since Warcraft 1. Warhammer Fantasy, the table top, was released in 1983, many ideas were taken from LOTR etc but they added their own spin on things. For instance: Warhammer was the first fantasy setting where dwarves had guns, orcs were green etc.

Hope you have a good graphics card because that's basically what's going to determine how high you set your graphics settings. The processor doesn't mean shit if you don't have a decent video card. Also, 2.66GHz isn't even that great. On my Dell Dimension 3000 (old piece of shit) it has a 2.79 GHz P4 processor.

I bought this game bout 3 days ago. Played for one hour, brought up the WoW website cancelled my account and signed up for 7 months of WAR. Best. Game. EVER. (Greenskins FTW!)
This game is great, I loved WoW (played it since American Beta, and I am from Great Britain) but lost interest in it as it became too much about yourself rather than the war (i.e. farming to get gold, farming for epic mount, farming for epic loot etc). In Warhammer, where as it's not as polished yet (give them a break it's been out for a couple of weeks) you do have a sense of self worth, like your part of something bigger.
seems like a Wow replica at first glance but its a very good graphics engine and animation-wise it is beautiful, i havent played it, nor will i ever, however this game looks very well put together and i give it my thumbs up *applauds*
not flaming you, but wow is a replica of this. WoW asked to borrow alot from the Warhammer series, such as how they did orcs, elves, dwarves etc. its not even WoWs UI, wow borrowed it from EQ.
PS. Borrow = used, too lazy to go back and fix em all
WOW = PVE

Yeah, pretty much since Warcraft 1. Warhammer Fantasy, the table top, was released in 1983, many ideas were taken from LOTR etc but they added their own spin on things. For instance: Warhammer was the first fantasy setting where dwarves had guns, orcs were green etc.
The warcraft series began during the early 90s I believe. And all these comments of blizzard employees working on Warhammer? How? Warhammer is a table top strategy game using a turn based dice system. Blizz make PC games.

Ranged classes are pussies? Well what would you rather do? Run straight up to some facerolling melee class and get killed in 5 seconds, while having your DPS cut in half due to pushback and interrupts, or stay farther away? (LIKE THEY ARE FUCKING SUPPOSED TO)

this is warhammer.
@dan012345 when you login the first time you have to choise between order or destruction races/class, after you have done a choise i can't make in the server chars of the other faction.
This is a precise rule in the eula .
I think the video come from beta (closed) where you can use both faction (realm) without limitations,
Actually if you play destruction the only way to play also order is to make order chars in another server,

Best "single target dps" is the Witch Elf.
Best "AoE dps" is Bright Wizard or Engineer
The RvR is not chunky, nor is it "slow" . It seems slower then say WoW, but its really not. A lot more going on then you would think.

So I've been looking to play something new lately, been on WoW since shortly after release.
I have a single core processor (2.8 GHz), 2 GB RAM (can upgrade to 4 easily), and a GeForce 9800 GT graphics card.
Will that run this game well, without being laggy at higher graphics settings? I have a 22" WS monitor if that makes any difference.

single core? don't tell me you're still using a P4 or something. Spend 50 bucks on an e5200 or something and enjoy that extra core.
Anyway, WAR should run perfectly fine on your system, but yeah, it's 2009. No one should be using a single core processor to game anymore.

Hope you have a good graphics card because that's basically what's going to determine how high you set your graphics settings. The processor doesn't mean shit if you don't have a decent video card. Also, 2.66GHz isn't even that great. On my Dell Dimension 3000 (old piece of shit) it has a 2.79 GHz P4 processor.

yes, a p4 processor... if u have pentium dual core or core 2 duo the 2.66ghz cpu speed will be rated at around 4.5- 4.6ghz overall...
but yes, you will need a decent gpu, not exactly a geforce 280gtx, or a radeon 4870 with 2gb gddr5 memory, but atleast 512mb gddr3
i have a geforce 9800 gt that can run pretty much everything except crysis on max without lag on a 19" monitor + 6gb ddr2 ram

This game is great, I loved WoW (played it since American Beta, and I am from Great Britain) but lost interest in it as it became too much about yourself rather than the war (i.e. farming to get gold, farming for epic mount, farming for epic loot etc). In Warhammer, where as it's not as polished yet (give them a break it's been out for a couple of weeks) you do have a sense of self worth, like your part of something bigger.

not flaming you, but wow is a replica of this. WoW asked to borrow alot from the Warhammer series, such as how they did orcs, elves, dwarves etc. its not even WoWs UI, wow borrowed it from EQ.
