@Commiton: Here's a history lesson for you, friend: the Nazis and their allies damn near overwhelmed and defeated the USSR thanks to Stalin who decapitated the Red Army on the eve of the invasion. When the attack began the Red Army was completely unprepared again thanks to Stalin ignoring every warning possible from NKVD agents abroad and a wehrmacht desserter. Under Trotsky, the fascists would've been beaten back much sooner with a much less Soviet casualty rate.

Stalin actually denied this when Lenin wrote "April Theses". In other word, Stalin was actually supporting provisional government and it was him who took opportunist approach who have supported workers when workers' movement were strong but shifted in favor of bureaucrats when bureaucrats were getting stronger. Stalin recognized "socialism in one country" when Lenin himself admitted during last part of his life that Russia is "workers' state with bureaucratic distortion".

Trotsky also failed to liberate Germany with the Red Army after WW I. Never heard of that? A very revolutionary opportunity squandered by Trotsky. Trotskist wouldn't know what to do with a revolution if they won one (which is unlikely) and would soon fall to reaction. Trotsky's policies would have left the U.S.S.R. chaotic and undeveloped. Without Stalin's preparations for the second invasion he knew would come, the NAZI's would have overwhelmed the U.S.S.R.

@Commiton: Here's a history lesson for you, friend: the Nazis and their allies damn near overwhelmed and defeated the USSR thanks to Stalin who decapitated the Red Army on the eve of the invasion. When the attack began the Red Army was completely unprepared again thanks to Stalin ignoring every warning possible from NKVD agents abroad and a wehrmacht desserter. Under Trotsky, the fascists would've been beaten back much sooner with a much less Soviet casualty rate.

Marx and Engels spent much of his time study British and french feudalism and mercantile capitalism, which helped him reach to the conclusion that history did not happen in a serious of events, but more of a epoch of ideas. Communism was the answer to break the "pseudo history" that always relied on exploitation of another group of people. 4 Marx, I think he believed that ideas do spread, especially the ideas of capitalism due to its exploitative nature.

1. All these people were appointed as commanders. Trotsky was the Chairman of the RevMilCom (i.e. he actually ORGANIZED it).
2. Funny you should mention those names. I know for a fact Tukhachevsky and Antonov-Ovseyenko ended up being purged by the Stalinist regime. Frunze TECHNICALLY died of medical complications (but Stalin probably made it look like an accident).

Leninism was the initial problem, it took the Bolshevik party a couple of years to destroy the power of the soviets after the coup. Lenin can be viewed as a right wing marxist who had no faith in the proletariat and therefore concentrated power into the vanguard. Lenin was the original traitor to the revolution and Trotsky came to realise his own faults from supporting the Bolsheviks. The greatest treachery of Stalin was his efforts to control socialism and pervert it.

While in exile Trotsky warned da Soviets and German Communists of the fascist capacity to rise to power nearly a decade before ww2! Stalin only signed the pact with Hitler to buy time to militarise. During this industrialisation Trotsky did everything he could to undermine the revolution. He had also acted in the same way from 1906-1917 so this was no great shock (he only supported Lenin in the October revolution temporarily to be on the winning side). The huge rise in industrial output under Stalin enabled the Soviet Union to defeat Fascism, despite Trotsky's counter revolutionary anti-communist plotting. Trotsky = Traitor

You are right, because we have things changed since 1991 with the dissolution of the PCI and the emergence of parties revisionists including Refoundation. Also from 2008 is the first time in parliament there isn't a communist party. However, now, the only party truly anti-revisionist is the PMLI (Partito Marxista-Leninista Italiano) active since 1977, but is an extraparliament party.
Fortunately in the world, some supporter of Marxism-Leninism there is still.

I challenge stalinists or trotskiites to quote a work by either Stalin or Trotsky that is a the same level of Lenin's works. I think its a mistake to elevate either, to Lenin's stature. For those trying to decide between Trotsky and Stalin, please read State and Revolution, Left Wing Communism an Infantile disorder, The Proleterian Revolution and The Renagade Kautsky, all written by Lenin.. And also recommend, Anti During by Engels. Reader have you read any of these works?
