  • Suzie dear, I love love love private student loans from banks. Know why? Because when a client comes to me with such loans and they've been past due / in default for several years, I say guess what - you're debt-free. Ms. Orman needs to review the "contractual" aspect of private debts.

Heck, I can even discharge tax liens if they're old enough. (Red G., Credit Repair Specialist)

  • Watch out for unscrupulous for-profit schools too! They jack up tuition and are quick to have you sign up for multiple student loans to cover the costs-with NO financial counseling AT ALL. Then we're told "with the great new jobs" we'd have after graduation, we would be able to pay it back ever-so-promptly. Career Education Corporation is notorious for this (I'm one of many a victim!). A big thank you to our Dear Lender, Wachovia bank, as well for pairing up with these SOBs...

  • Yup, so true with all this, we do need to change this stuff. Thank you for posting, I am spreading it around also.

  • I already did the PLUS loan thing for my son. I'm up to $150K now and still in forbearance. I'm on disability though. There really isn't enough money for them to take without me being homeless.

  • @Outback4Me Is your son in Law or Medical school?

  • @WaronErrorDKos - His degree was for Engineering/Physics. It took him a year to find a job after he graduated and it wasn't even for his discipline. He's doing Quality Assurance for a manufacturer and about half the salary he should normally be getting.

  • thanks for this

  • Exactly correct.

  • I heard on NPR news, that debt on student loans is greater than debt on non-student credit cards.

  • @marthamclain That is true. The banksters saddled up a Student Debt Collusion w/universities/colleges using students as the target for scam to replace mortgage scams.

  • @WaronErrorDKos All this has been orchestrated to keep humanity down. I was hoping someday society would look around (or just look up) and say enough is enough, this isn`t what poeple want our society to be. We want equality for all, we want to work with nature not against it, we want to conserve our resources not over-consume,waste and profit from them. We want peace and compassion not war and monopolies. I was hoping this already would of happend, oh well, maybe next year. Ha ha ha....

  • @WaronErrorDKos If I have learned anything in this world it is that those who can be taken advantage of/exploited WILL be taken advantage of/exploited. It is nearly universal among the animal kingdom. No financier forces you to sign the dotted line.

  • @DuncanL7979 So true. However, in this highed/debt scheme, young ppl cant get a job w/o a degree, and can't get a degree w/o debt unless their dad is rich like Huntsmand and Romney's dads are. It's a stacked deck. Nonetheless, I am advising my grandkids to NOT get into debt. I foresee use of those Army Civilian Inmate Labor Program to work off debt. google it. OMGosh, its been changed since last time I check.

  • The Republicans are the ones who passed the law that you cant go bankruptcy on student loans I am not poining fingers on Republicans but they own most the banks that give the loans. If they made it more affordable for students to pay back we wouldnt mind but the interest is to much it is wrong and we need to stop it.

  • @HUNTINGSUSAN Thanks. Did you see the link to the 2007 report exposing corruption reported at that time. And STILL the GOP Reps and Senators refused to pass a bill to help students. It's linked beneath the vid. Its an important read with links to other information.

  • @HUNTINGSUSAN I don't think its worth mentioning parties (I'm not a republican btw) because they are mostly the same, you should know this. its just a one party system, and I'm not anti semitic but you should see how many people are wrapped up in the gov and banking system who are dual citizens of US and Isreal. I don't think its the parties which are the source of the problem, but they are a bunch of layers who dont help at all.

  • Please download this video onto your own computer. I figure youtube will soon be asked to have this video removed...

  • @SunnyMoon2010 YES, with my permission and thanks. Ppl need to hear Suze's opinion.

  • a diligent student doesn't need a university to learn especially now with educational information and videos on the Internet. It's just a piece of paper anyways. students should strike and not attend universities and colleges.

  • very true thanks:)

  • @Le5hitbag I wonder what would happen if STUDENTS refused to feed this corrupt machine? Imagine next September if colleges and universities had few or no students. STUDENT STRIKE NEEDED imo.
