Couldn't you tie the two whites together ahead of time, and put them in place just before you stuff in the heart? I'll bet that's how some other folks would do it. That tying at the last minute is awkward, and you might have an eyeball go bouncing away from you. You know what Moms say, "It's all fun until someone loses an eye!"
