Yes, basic material expenses will influence the cars price tag but many company will look at competitors and bump up the prices way beyond what they originally had in mind in a bid to win an International awards given for most profits prayed back.

Porsche and Ferrari do not make the biggest profit, VW did in 2010, and only because they own a number of smaller manufacturers. Next most profitable is Ford, yes Ford.

Could argue the design of the SLS isn't original either, it's quite reminiscent of the Viper. What design are you studying, automotive?

SSC can show us whatever performance, their cars is still missing the big picture.... it doesn't have the sex appeal of a Veyron, or any real super-car brand.
Mighty impressive, SSC is undeniably a bit of an underdog when put next to Bugattis and Koenigseggs. I'm not convinced that they've got what it takes to create as comprehensive an engineering package as the epic veyron. i do hope you give em a big thrashing. After all, any advancement anyone can contribute to the automotive world is one worth recognising. Give it all you've got fellas!!

Both its exterior design and its engine are ripped straight from an Audi concept car(I believe it was called the Rosemeyer). Quote from Ettore Bugatti: Weight is the enemy. Making a car that weighs more than most modern sedans and slapping the Bugatti name on it is, quite literally, a massive insult to Ettore. I mean come on, the engine in the Veyron alone weighs some 860lbs.

you guyz should release a 0-200mph time for the Aero in your free time, you know, after the Tuatara is completed. This will let car fans all around the world know you're ahead of the competition by many years. Your 2007 cars are already faster than 2011 cars by bugatti, koenigsegg, henessey and other makes today. The McLaren F1 was legendary because its waay ahead of its rivals during its time. The Aero could be too.

If the 2nd gear start is faster than the 1st, then the gear ratios for first should be lengthened slightly and let the traction control kick in to reign in the power till sufficient traction is achieved going off the line.
Tuatara? Interesting name. That's what we call a Reptile found only in New Zealand. It's one of the oldest living animals in the world, dating back to when the Dinosaurs use to hang around. Not sure why you would name a sports car a Tuatara. They are very slow, very old animals that get eaten by rats and other small pests.

@BugattiVeryonSS The original body on the SSC was tested to be stable up to 273, not limit the speed it could go. It's easy to tell the actual automotive enthusiasts from the Bugatti fanboys... the Veyron SS is limited because its tires can't handle its top speed (the only achievement of the car), so it is supremely useless. I'm excited to see what the SSC can do on a track as well as in a straight line. Sorry, but the Veyron wasn't ever that capable of a vehicle.
@BugattiVeryonSS NASA performed tests on the Ultimate Aero specifically to gauge its aerodynamic stability. It stated the UA was aerodynamically stable up to 273mph. The wind tunnel at Langley has since shut down, so further testing of this nature has proven more difficult.
Im all for the fast thing.. and im sure finding roads in here in america lacking the 'kill joy-police' is close to near impossible, but... know just how much supercars and telephone poles seem to have a magnetic attraction.. how stupid can a test driver be, driving 200+mph just mear feet away from a whole row of telephone poles and no guard rails!!. @stepxunit There are occasions, more than you'd probably suspect, where car owners rent out tracks and have a 'Track Day'. There are many times when these types of vehicles can legally get into the throttle a little bit!
My God, this thing is ugly. Here's a tip: hire some better industrial designers. You might have an incredible engine, but with those looks like @supercarkid said we'll take the Aventador any day.
@SSCautos No. But its not hard to realize that 1350hp is going to be very difficult for just the rear wheels to handle. That's why Lamborghini, and more importantly Bugatti (who has all the money in the world to develop their cars) use AWD to put the monstrous power the the pavement. Yes some may argue that "true drivers' cars" are RWD but with so much power, the driver will struggle to enjoy the experience and keep the car on the road.
@supercarkid Of course that amount of HP is difficult to handle for 2 wheels, let alone four. As a driver, it isn't necessarily an all-or-nothing switch when it comes to the throttle. Regarding enjoyment, that has NEVER been an issue for anyone who has actually driven one of our vehicles. You can find us on Automobile Magazines home page... Just Google "SSC Automobile Magazine." Their writer has actually driven both vehicles.
@SSCautos Also, I actually have seen an Ultimate Aero in person and the build quality was no where near as good as a Bugatti, let alone a Lamborghini Gallardo...

Yes, basic material expenses will influence the cars price tag but many company will look at competitors and bump up the prices way beyond what they originally had in mind in a bid to win an International awards given for most profits prayed back.

Porsche and Ferrari do not make the biggest profit, VW did in 2010, and only because they own a number of smaller manufacturers. Next most profitable is Ford, yes Ford.

Bugatti even though the could sell a car for over a million they make virtually no profit but Porsche may sell a car for about 100-200k and make quite an exceptionable profit. Mighty impressive, SSC is undeniably a bit of an underdog when put next to Bugattis and Koenigseggs. I'm not convinced that they've got what it takes to create as comprehensive an engineering package as the epic veyron. i do hope you give em a big thrashing. After all, any advancement anyone can contribute to the automotive world is one worth recognising. Give it all you've got fellas!!

Both its exterior design and its engine are ripped straight from an Audi concept car(I believe it was called the Rosemeyer). Quote from Ettore Bugatti: Weight is the enemy. Making a car that weighs more than most modern sedans and slapping the Bugatti name on it is, quite literally, a massive insult to Ettore. I mean come on, the engine in the Veyron alone weighs some 860lbs.

Tuatara? Interesting name. That's what we call a Reptile found only in New Zealand. It's one of the oldest living animals in the world, dating back to when the Dinosaurs use to hang around. @BugattiVeryonSS The original body on the SSC was tested to be stable up to 273, not limit the speed it could go. It's easy to tell the actual automotive enthusiasts from the Bugatti fanboys... the Veyron SS is limited because its tires can't handle its top speed (the only achievement of the car), so it is supremely useless. I'm excited to see what the SSC can do on a track as well as in a straight line. Sorry, but the Veyron wasn't ever that capable of a vehicle.

@BugattiVeryonSS NASA performed tests on the Ultimate Aero specifically to gauge its aerodynamic stability. It stated the UA was aerodynamically stable up to 273mph. The wind tunnel at Langley has since shut down, so further testing of this nature has proven more difficult.

@SSCautos No. But its not hard to realize that 1350hp is going to be very difficult for just the rear wheels to handle. That's why Lamborghini, and more importantly Bugatti (who has all the money in the world to develop their cars) use AWD to put the monstrous power the the pavement. Yes some may argue that "true drivers' cars" are RWD but with so much power, the driver will struggle to enjoy the experience and keep the car on the road.
