  • i am not trying to make any statement, except that for some reason these issues when in asian and african countries seem to get more attention than the similar ones found for decades in any indian reservation, rural appalachia, as well as other regions of our own country.

  • interesting that the snake charmer would play music for the snake... considering snakes are deaf.....

its the motion that hypnotizes them, not the music.

  • ide like this amateur journo, now do a doc on the lost children of Mississippi, South Dakota & Louisiana..also he wouldn't need to spend much, just a shortish hop from the bohemian east village

  • I just donated 500 dollars to one family inNepal...enoughto pay 6 months rent! I'm a student and consider it my tithe.

  • sick peoples.

  • god Bless? of what of thats fool doll of stone .

  • I'm a new subscriber today, VERY nice work. God Bless.

  • =(

  • Mike, Don't get distracted by ignorant people comments. Please please keep doing great work.

    Blessings

    hari om

  • the guy at 2:34 - 2:43 looks like a white hippie with dreads (trustafarian?) who lives there as a sadhu. there's something in his eyes, along with the color of his hair and his demeanor that looks like he doesn't really belong or fit the role. i'm not knocking what he's doing... just sayin'... it's a guess. anyone agree?

  • @ blinkoski, you my friend need some psychiatric help..

  • @blinkoski Again, another person making broad generalizations about all Americans based on their own limited experience. Why don't I shoot a documentary of the "poor ghettos of the USA"? Because we already have a multitude of social nets to help out those who need it. Where is that help in Nepal? It comes from groups like CWIN and UNICEF, which this film helps.

  • Wow! You're very opinionated for someone who seemingly has nothing to offer but uneducated views. Where are your videos? Where is your documentary? If you're so passionate about these issues, then why don't you get up, get off the computer, and show the world what you're talking about? Come on, that's a challenge! All the people following these comments will just have to assume that you're lazy if you don't now.

  • A word of caution though, you'd better do your research or you'll look even worse than you already do. I have a Master's degree from Antioch University McGregor that combined Anthropology and Documentary Film. What does that mean? It means I spent years doing research so I could present the video I shot with as much information as I could gather. It also means I went heavily into debt to get this film out and will be paying for it for years to come.

  • Now to critique all of the ignorance contained in your message. Are you telling me you understand the plight of the "black man" in America? Have you ever even been to America? Yes, social nets have undeniably made living conditions better for millions of Americans. There is simply no argument there. You may as well argue that water isn't wet, it simply holds no truth.

  • Again, you throw all Americans in the same boat. It's the kind of simple generalization that shows a total lack of understanding of the complexities of an entire culture. Shall I lump all people from India into one general category? Should my interaction with you make me think that all people from India are just like you? Of course not, that would be incomprehensibly shallow.

  • Now reading this comment I've written, I can see how it may come off as mean spirited. That is not the intent at all. Apparently I have to get "blinkoski" to take a good hard look in the mirror and ask themselves what they are doing to help. Complaining on the internet is not only unhelpful, it is also counterproductive.

  • Why don't you take the time you're wasting with your complaints and go out and do something. Do something great! Do something epic! You have the means of production all around you. Draw a picture, paint a painting, take some photographs, or make a film. Good luck, "blinkoski"!

  • @mikemullins Im sorry if ive hurt you. That was never my intention. it was nothing personal. sorry once again. may be i am wrong.

  • @blinkoski I think you have failed to consider that Nepalese face many different social obstacles and that any attempt to understand or represent a group of struggling individuals is a worthy one. Instead of naysaying other people, start making the change you say needs made in the USA. I think if you yourself were making a difference in your community then you would not be making such cynical judgments on other people.

  • @blinkoski Sheer ignorance and disregard of the presentation.

  • That 19 year olds either got a crazy ass tumor or a parasitic twin...

  • dalsim WINS!!!

  • @deceiver123m Rightly said brother. But the capitalist spirit is ingrained in our system, something which will be hard to unlearn. 'coz after we save ourselves from the western banker wolves, the traditional moneylenders here are 'waiting to take their place. But there is still hope, for there is bone crushing poverty. 'coz the middle class here or anywhere resign hope and submit, but the poor keep dreaming. It's about the time the poor learn to fight, like Kashmiris and the Naxalites.

  • SEE MANIMAHESH YATRA 2010 DERA BABA NANAK ON YOU TUBE FOR HOLY DARSHAN OF MANI

  • @selimaazouri there are cleaners and plumbers in every society the west has an education system which divides people into classes from doctors to labourers and god has put us into classes also from intelligent to retarded so understand how cultures are divided before you make ignorANT COMMENTS JUST AS THE BODY HAS A BRAIN AND ALSO A SHIT HOLE TO FUNCTION SO DOES SOCIETY NEED A BRAIN AND A WASTE DISPOSAL UNIT TO FUNCTION

  • @mohamheadz Indian culture is sick just like other cultures. Because the usa use the Jew Banking system for european countries class system does not make neither the jew banking system or the Indian caste system any good. They are both evil and created by satan.

  • @deceiver123m your a racist. and looks whos talking about equating religion with satan !... satan would be pious compared to evils pricks with dirty thoughts like you....

  • @selimaazouri haha wat do u know bout dalits? Seems like u r fit to b a politician. Adios... I just figured I'm speaking to a racist myself. Generalizin ppl seems to b the trend here...

  • @selimaazouri Indians in India are racist as well... So are Pakistanis in Pakistan. We fight over the lil subclasses in our religion. I'm sure I dont need to remind u bout the Sunni-Shia quarrel. Go to any part of India and the politics are entirely based on caste n creed. It starts high up for someone's benefit and we go at it blindly. None of us is gainin anythin fightin for superiority. We need to learn to admit our mistakes if we ought to develop. Not cover it up with prejudices...

  • @misszweetti appreciate tat... It's annoying when people jus wanna talk nonsense to make a point when tr really is no need. Culture is an insignia of a place. Reminds us of the old world when homes wr safer. I wish ppl respected others n stop critisizm take the place of opinion...

  • @selimaazouri hey stop it! U should have enough dignity to blame shit tat happens here than blamin the whites for everythin. Everyone's contributed to the way the world's turned out now. I'm proud I'm an Indian but I dont need to abuse whites or Muslims to prove tat...

  • @selimaazouri

While you're at it, see if you can stop your mates from flooding Europe to try and find a civiised place to live where they can be free, can vote, not be turned into killer soldiers at 10, be sold as sex slaves, get infected with aids by being raped by invading armies of different tribes, have their hands hacked off because they are a diferent tribe, where they can be women and automatically be whores.

Good luck with all of that mate.

  • @selimaazouri

Sure, when you stop holding out your begging bowls, no problem. If you don't want us there stop taking our aid.

  • @gojiberrynice you can rant on all you like now, I will no longer enciurage you to hijack this beautful film of a beautiful place of decent people, with ill informed rantings.

  • Pssh.. 19? Right. 14.

  • @selimaazouri OK cheers. I will do that next time I am asked for money :o)

  • The monkeys are smart but sometimes they are cunning thieves wich still anyone.

  • beautiful video, i appreciate your work m8. keep up the good work!. its cool!.

  • Thank you for this clip. What's the 'new way of thinking' you allude to in the video?

  • The Nagababa and snake charmer were both hypnotic and beautiful.

  • Wow, I usually don't respond to these comments because they are generally positive but this one is particularly absurd (and poorly written as well). I'm sorry if you've had some bad experiences with Americans but to make broad generalizations based on limited experiences is the height of ignorance. What, may I ask, have you done to help anyone in life? Namaste and may you find peace (because you seem rather angry)!

  • amen brother

  • dont worry mate, just another idiot who slams down the Sword of Damacles on over 1/4 billion people due to one mans foreign policy and their rather poor calorific intake/expenditure ratio...dont worry about them...namaste

  • American assholes, so well educated in the art of being the most arrogant, disrespectful of other cultures and self centered ingnorants in the art of beingnes. The world is in state of caos due to them

  • @mikemullins

Traveling has fked the "tourist" plces in india. Jus coz plces like manali r cheap, jews (MOSTLY) flock 'ere frm all over and destroy them. those places are lik a balding head now, robbed of their beauty. What cannot be destoyd hwever is the anarchy of these sadhus ... bt as time passes, they too are dying now. In india, we're getting westernised (materialistic) and selling out and, water and air to whoever that wud pay...sad :(

realise tht we're all connectd and all wud b good!

  • @babalouie555 stop borrowing money at interest and the whole western society will walk away from India because there would be zero profit for them in india.

  • @mikemullins, Bad comments will only distract you, Keep up your good work. Be it for 5 months or more, in those 5 months, God had chosen to feed and cloth those kids through your hands. Its very easy to say things but harder to do them. Be blessed.

  • SEARCH FOR RYAN CHAMBERS

    MISSING IN RISHIKESH!!!!

    PLEASE HELP

    See "Ryan Chambers" on UTube!

  • Namaste hope they found him. there was a guy killed about this time in Rishikesh - a so-called aghori baba and a tourist starting smoking hashish and then went onto to drinking alcohol. The tourist was found floating face down in the Ganges and the fake sadhu was arrested when he tried to cash the guys travelers checks at a local bank. You have to know what you are doing and go in with eyes wide opened. There are more tourists that wind up missing and dead than is openly reported. OM Shanti

  • Namaste! Jai! Jai! Lovely children, lovely camera work, lovely narrative.

  • One thing:there are more than 500 organisations working only in Ktm for str kids. Its a fact that most of the kids living on str, would not be there. You don´t know the background. The second biggest income of the goverment ist money from these organisations. Thus, the goverment has no interest to help the families.Since streetworkers helping, families drop there kids to the street, cause they get picked up by streetworkers, school and food for free. The help should come in another way.

  • I've only seen the first few videos of your documentary film, but I love the concept of what you did, to be with them, spend time with them... live as they live.. it's an experience most people would back away from... I'm sure they are forever changed. I was there for only a month in Dec of 2006, but it changed my life. I met people who are so beautiful and full of life, even though they have barely enough food to eat every day. Thanks for Caring. :o)
