I live near Austin and saw him many times in a couple different bands. But after he got off the booze and drugs, the last time I saw him (a couple months before he died) was an AMAZING difference. He NEVER played better, it was like a diferent person as far as solid quality playing is concerened - it was simply an AMAZING transformation...so if you think you play and sound better high on whatever, it's an illusion...ask any sober listener. @blusismylife Positionally on the neck, it's F#min7 -- keep in mind the guitar is tuned down 1/2 step -- like Hendrix, Stevie always played in Eb tuning. So tonally, it's Fmin7.

If you play a standard D chord, but with the pinky finger where the fourth finger should be (on the B string) your ring finger on the E string (normally the middle finger) and the middle finger on the G string (where normally...
