wierd like all my old neighborhood went to Chuck landis coutry club many times and miss donuts and the church is where my parents got married I lived like around whiteoak and sherman way well my dad still lives out there .
good footage. i really like the way you shot all the land marks there. what kind of camera did you use? the images are so crisp. and the beat you used in the vid sounded cool.great intro intro into too. hate to admit thats what caught my attention.news audio report of gun fire in reseda.
Wow -- Reseda Country Club -- saw Metallica there in '83 while in High School (twice) & a ton of other fantastic shows including U2 back before they hit it big. Reseda was decaying back then but it was still pretty fun. Now its a gang infested hell-hole. What a toilet that whole Valley has become. And the cancer is slowly spreading to Ventura County....Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park...you're next. So sad.
I was raised in Reseda and yes it has become a toilet. It's a shame. It was a great place in the 60's and 70's. I went to Blythe st Elementary, Northridge Junior High, Cleveland High and Pierce College. A true Valley boy. The Country Club was the place to see concerts back then. I saw a lot of big name acts roll through there.
@mrpesca ok tell me this, wtf did u do there in your younger years?it is so boring here and its way too hot during the summer and the only thing thats good are the deals u get on pot which isnt that great but its okay.
@Smackenzieth We used to go to Zuma beach, Malibu creek, Sundays at Chatsworth park for frisbie and BBQ (and beer), drive through mulholland , Friday and Saturday nights in Hollywood at the clubs, Country club for local concerts, hike in topanga, off roading at the end of Tampa, Desoto, Winnetka and dirt Balboa, climb stoney point (Chatsworth) at night after aforementioned pot, Wednesday nights cruising Van Nuys Bvd, party hopping (and crashing) on the weekends.
@Smackenzieth The best way to find new places is to get in your car and drive with no destination. L.A. and the valley are huge and there are a lot of hidden treasures to be found this way.
i know every street your driving down in that video, i was born and raised in RESEDA and we tore it up back in the day...my folks still live there.
good times in Reseda, Country club gigs,...BEE-BOP RECORDS right next doorthat had hard to find punk bands and stuff, the skating rink...melvin ave school, then reseda elementary when melvin started bussing! then sutter jr high and cleveland high school were Jim Morrison went! I loved Reseda!
I have always heard of the Reseda Country Club, its nice to finally see it. It comes up will reading about so many bands over the years. Lots of history there.
Ahh I remember when Reseda was nice and white. The theater showed double features. There was Newberry's. And the roller rink. Unfortunately there was also melvin school, a horrid place with horrid people. I could see why someone would want to hang themselves after being at that place.
I remember too,but it wasnt that long ago either. just about 4 years ago there has been a large influx of central americans. there has always been a large mexican population here along with white. but its the central americans that are making this place horrid.
Wow! I'm IN Melvin avenue right now as a 5th grader! Man how im gonna miss that school.

what was wrong with melvin ave school?
it was just a little school like any other.
i went there and my dogs used to jump through the windows into the classroom all the time!
tbrett2000 2 years ago
Did your dogs attack Miss Smith, Mrs Orloff, Mr. Allred and especially Mr. Armstrong? That would be wonderful. And throw in the secretaries as well.
