Garnes raises a great point I believe. Just because a black man is in office does not change a single thing when it comes to civil rights. It is inspiring yes that a country as inherently racist as the US can elect a black man but if President Obama continues to pay service to the upper class people like Goldman Sachs and the health insurance companies then we might as well have another white dude
@xxfrijolxx - I agree, there is a disproportionate number of powerful to the powerless? There has got to be a better way of getting the powerless's voice heard.
whew!!..Brutha is break-ING it on DOWN, aint he?...Lord have mercy. This kind of truth almost brings tears to my eyes, because Cornel articulates "what we see" and when truth is spoken by someone who is BOTH learned and "common", thats a very powerful thing. This is the kind of black individual that I strive to be in my life...no offense to you or anyone else. The man is an inspiration.

No "real" black person will never be president, because of "compromise". Very true statement.

Do you think Dr.West will ever change his mind, I mean there will always be poor people and there will always be ones with and without power?

@YorelProductions
I don't know if Cornell West will ever change his mind but you can agree that there is a disproportionate number of powerful to powerless, right?
