i think from what we know about reagan's approach with USSR- He wasn't intent on blowing up the world. Since this was done during his first term-most of his detractors experienced reagan as a govenor. I've been told that dianne feinstein is not very popular with liberals in berkely/san fran. However, she does have some degree of support on the national scale with her work in the HR.

i reference feinstein, because i think reagan was an oppressive govenor & ppl expected him to take an aggressive approach with foreign policy. Although, the second banana wars, iran/iraq intervention, & de-regulation left their shit stain that outweighed any "positive' contributions in my book.
