i have also found CT level 9/10 will block the d pawn in with B D6 after E4 opening - game over. But before I give check mate I like to CTRL Z back to the opening and see if the prog changes tactic - sometimes it has moved B C5 which gives a better game CT prog does make fatal errors through the thick of things and can be easily brought to it's knees - Even after you can see the saving move it will never make it no matter how many times you rewind the moves...

You could have won before. At 0:53 instead of moving the queen forward 2 steps, you could have moved the pawn 1 step, thus trapping the king. Then, moving the queen forward would have ended it.

Chess Titans must be programmed NOT to look for impending checkmates, to better emulate human play. It's one of the reason "chessmaster" AI feels so inhuman--down's syndrome ELO chessmaster AIs will blunder pieces, then do everything to avoid checkmate, like a 1500 player. But you can catch "Chess Titans" snoozing like any human, which is very un-computer of it.

I am rated 1900 USCF which doesn't make me a chess maste,r but I can tell you right now that you had this beat faster after black plays F5 you play g6 and it is mate in 1 no matter what black does. you allowed his king to escape to f7 which prolonged the ineveitable victory. Chess Titans is not a very good chess engine any way and it has lots of glitches

@CaraBrimleyRules Chess titans on level 10 plays better than a 1200 or 1300. I'd estimate it plays near a 1600-1700 in "certain" positions. a 1200 is absolutely terrible at openings and end games. This program can play sound tactically once past the opening lines. i am 1900 USCF and I can tell you right now that a 1300 barely knows any tactics beyond 2 move combos. Much less how to defend a position being attacked with combos.

It's hard to believe this was level 10. There's no reason why the opponent shouldn't have taken the checking pawn at 1:05 using either the king or rook. White had no outs if that pawn had been taken, and would have averted a checkmate the way this played out. I'm definitely no chess master, but even I knew to do that. Like Hypertask said, very convenient that there's no way to prove this was level 10.
