Nice setup. What are the adapters you use on the manifold at the 1 minute mark? It looks like you have a 1/2" male threaded adapter coming out of the flat caps, but I'm not sure what type of female adapter you are using. It almost looks like a spigot female adapter. Would appreciate any insight into that as I have been searching for a piece like that.
so from a buissnes standing aquaponics is the way to go you'll have produce all yr around and fish and if set up right you can make profite of them every yr but when just starting out first yr there wont be a profit off fish cuase one thing the need more time to grow also this applys to the type of fish you plan to use!!!
dude anything can be used as a fish tank dont need a real fish tank even a larger tote can be used as a fish tank still in all realaty aquaponics is still the way to go all yee have to do is feed the fish a little now in warmer climites ya can stick the fish out side where the tank can create algy to feed the fish the fish poop feeds the plants and the plants clean the water for the fish plus if you use real fish and not pet fish you will be growing fish to eat some day!
hugeharvest, i appreciate the response. so can i buy a 30 plant system after you relocate? if so how long do you think it will take? i need to buy one in the next month or so and its pretty important so im hoping im able to. i really love the system and its perfect for my style of growing
I just built one of these exact setups all the parts I got at home depot except air pump went to petco anyways I only spent about $200.00 literally the exact setup my recirculating drain system is a bit different though
@slorelease Right On! Do you have pics? Parts you won't find at home depot include: 4" PVC, 2" net pots, 180 degree high flow sprayers, flat backed rubber end caps, 2" Plant Plugs, 2" neoprene collars, adjustable cycle timers, air pumps, air line tubing, ABS reservoirs, or mountable Aqua O2 Round Air Stones. The rest, sure you can probably get it at Home Depot, its no secret. Huge Harvest's hand built systems are a great deal when you tally up the price of the components we include.
im interested in purchasing one of these systems but theres no option to buy one on your website? please give directions on how to purchase
also 36 plants 8" apart would make a perfect square footprint for a 1000 watt light, can you make a customer a system like that instead of a 30 plant one? thanks for your time
@CHRISGORMLEY Unfortunately, we are not currently taking orders for CG's, we are in process of relocating. The only reason we chose 30 plants is because it was the most we can fit in a 4' 9" x 4' 9" grow tent with enough room for the fittings and reservoir. Besides, most reflectors are rectangular so it works out pretty nice. We might be offering blue prints in the future if we find people that are interested.
wow you do know there are ppl out there that do know pluming and this aeropnics is a peace cake. now all one needs to do a place a vidoe on how to build one of there own and not buy it from anyone!!!
@koreyokeenelove Not everyone has the tools, or a space to work. Also, many of the components are not easily available. We sell to people who can afford to have us build it for them.
@Lumbre1969 No this was designed to be somewhat flexible. Primarily it was designed to grow cuttings from a mature plant of excellent genetics. Could be tomatoes, peppers, or cucumbers.
In this video the res is a Botanicare but on your website it shows this system uses a 30 gallon Hydrotek. Is it black now? What size is in this video? It looks like the 10 gallon. Also, are the threaded fittings just turned through the rubber end caps? Any seals for them? thanks!
@fetymann Bontanicare repeatedly sent us the wrong items so we decided to find a new company to get our ABS reservoirs from. That was a 10 gallon yes. To seal the fittings we use plumb tape.
@fab9911 We space the plants 8 inches on center to allow plants room to grow without crowding each other. We actually feel it is a tightly packed system as is.
@CRAIGMACK877 Just fit the PVC into the fittings (elbows or Ts) it actually requires all my body weight just to get the PVC in the fitting all the way, this is more than enough support for the system, plants, roots, and water spray.
We use high flow sprayers that will not clog during a complete grow to harvest cycle provided that regular hydroponics nutrients are used. In the unlikely event that a sprayer were to clog the remaining 29 sprayers would sufficiently hydrate your plants massive root system until the finish of the cycle. It is recommended that you clean or replace the sprayers after each huge harvest. The system is completely sealed with grommets and neoprene collars to keep out light and insects.
@HugeHarvest Interesting, I use a high flow sprayer as well as a micron filter and the salts from 2 GH and AN base nutes stop them up every 4-5 weeks..
What is the flow rate on your sprayers? Are you using reverse osmosis filtered water? Carbonates in unfiltered tap water build up fast in a synthetic system which can cause clogging. Another tip for preventing clogging is to use highly chelated nutrients such as AN Connoisseur or Dutch Master. Another good product is Drip Clean by House and Garden, it will help to prevent excessive salt build up and reduce nutrient lock out.

@jjmcpumps For this video I believe we used 1" furniture grade PVC. Later we switched to 1.25" schedule 40 PVC.

when connecting your frame do you use any adhesive? or just hand tight?
CRAIGMACK877 4 months ago
@CRAIGMACK877 Most all PVC setups like that will hold together just fine without cementing them.
fetymann 4 months ago
@fetymann I agree, sometimes it is difficult to separate the fittings from the PVC without using a rubber mallet.
