One of those tracks from the eponymous album which made such an impression on me, back when I did not even know the original version of the song. It certainly elicits memories. I now honestly think California is the engine of the world and I am stranded in England! :)
I sought and I found, Thank You! I seem to remember this group was on Buddah, a Motown subsidiary and recorded a few songs out of the Motown standard catalog. Carmine Appice is great and really came into his own about ten years latter. I rate him up there with Billy Cobham, Ginger Baker, Keith Moon and a few others.
Just recently discovered this band for the first time (I'm only 30) And I gotta say I can't stop listening. Carmine Appice can beat the SHIT out of those drums!
The music of Vanilla Fudge takes me back to my Haight-Ashbury days in San Francisco in 1967 and 1968. I use to listen to a underground radio station in the area that played Vanilla Fudge. They weren't played on regular radio yet. As I listened on my radio as I walked down the street, straight people looked at me as though I was crazy.
I love this band and their style of music which they played. I still groove on them today at 62 years old.
Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll. Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll.
Yes Carmine is one of the greatest ROCK drummers that ever lived.. fantastic Feel and great heart.. He is from NEW YORK CITY!
Also the bass player is Tim Bogart also one of the best that ever live.. Tim played with Jimi hendrix on the long version Voodoo chile on electric ladyland, he played for Hot Tuna, and Jefferson airplane! These are some very special musicians on this album. I was 17 when this came out we were mesmerized!

I like VF's rendition of this song, but this radio edit is too chopped up to enjoy thoroughly. You need the full version to REALLY enjoy it.
