iv always used paper towels on mine to stop them from sticking :) foil is a good idea but its a very poor conductor of heat and if it gets hot it can release a toxic fume in the air. :(
actually the foil works good even better then i expected and no fumes so far if i smell anything ill immediately take this video off and make a video not too do it..but im satisfyied witth it so far :)
im pretty sure u cant smell the fumes. it is a good idea, its just that i wouldnt reccomend using foil, and im not sure at what temp it releases fumes.
I don't know anything about reptiles or these pads - I just came across this video randomly - but I happen to know that the type of foil used for hookahs bowls (a pipe used in the middle east for smoking flavoured tobacco) is specially formulated to not release any fumes when heated (and it gets very hot since you place burning charcoal on it).
It comes in squares and circles and can be bought online. If you were concerned about fumes harming you or your animals you could use this foil instead.
wow dude. Thats pretty clever bro. I cant believe your the only one to figure this out bro. LOL i gues were all dumb. just joking everyone. great video bro!
But how could you make the mat stick to the tank or do you just lay it on the bottom?
yeah this is primarily for racks or kritter keeper but i guess you can put it on the bottom or tanks(which is what im doing now)just make sure you have something to seperate it so the tank isnt laying on the heat mat
you know how the heat mats have the sticky part on the back?if you put alluminum foil you can transport it tank to tank or tub to tub instead of peeling it off everytime and ruining it...do you get it now???
