  • That was some sweet noodling

  • beautiful tone

  • Firebirds and V's were a milestone in the history of electric guitar

  • such a nice guitar but i dont like the shit brown color

  • 0:57 - 1:13 I heard that part like 100 times (literally!) Its just way too cool!

  • what model is that?

  • awesome playing maan!!

  • Great playing, tone and shape, but this particular color is ugly : p

  • @Arrivald fully agree

  • @Arrivald I agree. What do you call this color...doo doo brown!?

  • Fucking Masterpiece

i wish there were more but that's ok

  • Great performance, great tone, great GUITAR!!!

The tune is absolutely bitchin'. Is it an improvised piece, or just something I've never heard before?! Tell me...TELL ME PLEASE

  • way cool sound. I have one too... a VII

Is that just tremelo or a flanger or what?

  • that is a creepy ass riff

  • That could almost pass for a swampgrass version of "The End" by the Doors.

  • @SotR59 WOW I totally thought of that song too.

  • Can't stop listening to this cool tune.

  • Beautiful, just beautiful. The playing, and the guitar, beautiful complements to each other.

  • Nice guitar and nice playing... but did anyone else notice the camera slowly getting lower at about 0:34 ...watch the marshall amp at the back, the head starts to dissapear haha! :D

  • hahaha

  • @aaronbra1993 The camera wasn't moving -- the amp stack was GROWING!!

  • what strings you use?

  • nice picking!! ;)

  • "swampy little ditty"

couldn't have described it better myself.

    i love this piece.

  • Is that Dave's Two-Stroke amp behind his knee?

GREAT song and playing by the way!

  • Seriously, I think it's a lot better as instrumental!

In fact I think as an instrumental this song kicks ass, but the album version is so-so.

  • Thanks for all the kind comments on this tune - it makes a refreshing change ;- )

Yes, this is a "real song" (funny how someone phrased it that way!). It's my own composition, "Bring The Bottle", on the second album from my band The Molenes, "Songs of Sin and Redemption" (avail at iTunes, CD Baby, elsewhere). No TABs abail, sorry, but it's in Dm, standard tuning except for the dropped D (low E down to D). Rocks heavier on the CD version! Best wishes,

    Dave

  • Thanks, I appreciate it !

Keep up the good work !

  • Dave, this would make for a REALLY nice instrumental on a future album, especially with some steel guitar slide work (like on the album version). I could see this winding up on a movie soundtrack. Keep making great music!

  • That sounds like 16 Horsepower to me.

  • Woow this is great ! Where can I find tabs ?

I want to learn this so badly !!!

    Cheers

  • I fkn wish i wrote that song god damn thats so mad!!!!!!!!!!

  • great!!!

  • Great vid..I'm getting a Firebird next week..

If you're the Dave that does the guitar books...Great job!!

  • OMG did u get the firebird

  • Exelent man!!! Very nice...love the Firebird!

  • Dude,that song rocks!

  • You'll find this piece recorded on the "Songs of Sin and Redemption" album by The Molenes; try either 'Redemption' or 'Bring the Bottle' (the latter fuller, with lyrics).

  • killer licks !

    someone know this song ?

  • i like your playing! Firebird sounds SO COOL!!!!!!

  • That was a joy to listen to. I'm so glad I decided to look-up what this instrument sounds like. I hope to learn how to play like this - what would you call this style of music?

  • anyone find out if its a 'real' song? i.e. not one of Mr. Hunter's...

  • What's name of this song ?

  • nice song!!

  • nice song!!

  • that was so fucking awesome. haha.

damn is there tabs for that somewhere?

  • mmkay. way to be an elitist dick.

  • AAAHHHHHsooOOOOOMMME!

  • that guitar is perfect

  • awesome, what scales are you using?

  • sounds like a Jimmy Page solo or something .. great one !

  • Wonderful mellow tone, was this in standard tuning?

  • open d?

  • yeah, i think so. i'm figuring it out and open d sounds the best to me

  • no, it's standard tuning

  • hmmm...standard but dropped a tone?

  • do you mean drop d?

  • what does he play on this video? there is a tablature or something about it?

  • I have the same question. Does anybody knows ?

  • what's the difference between this and the Explorer? interms of sound and quality

  • MetallicBlack86, an Explorer has fullsize humbuckers, while a Firebird has minihumbuckers. These sound a lot brighter, with emphasis on the higher midrange. Other than that, the "reverse" Firebird as seen here has a neck-thru design, which greatly improves sustain, playability in the upper regions and tuning stability due to the strings running across a single piece of wood, albeit that the whammy bar may ruin tuning stability due to friction at the bridge. Qualitywise, they're both Gibsons. ;-)

  • i have this dvd

  • That was bictchen. It's great not to hear all the same chops. This has style..

  • sweeeeet

  • fuckin orgasmic tune

  • YEAH!

  • TOTALLY

  • that sounded awesome

  • awesome

  • sounds great dude

  • Great sound, u look like Dean Gaffney

  • cool
