The reason vegeta was weaker then goku and he was actually stronger was because of his old age. Elites have a higher decline meaning they get older faster like a dog. He was at like 60% power in that match due to his old age. He was always stronger then goku. Also vegeta always honestly was stronger without decline it was just that goku's super saiyan was better then his.
He was able to match Buu for strength and speed. And its not like SS3 Goku did all that much better. He took just as big a pounding and didn't achieve anything more in the fight except bigger kai beams that bought him a little more time. Which was then immediately burned out because SS3 is far more draining and inefficient than SS2.
The fact that Vegeta also gets up and fights and hits, even after suffering the most vicious injuries in comparisons to the others shows he is the most durable too.
@cyber151 you must be bonkers men..he didn't match buu for long but he did and I give him that honestly. but Goku went ssj2 against buu and did more than just keep pace but to actually damage buu you need power so he needed ssj3 and ssj2 vegeta is leagues back from goku ssj2

im 19 and krillan was my favorite in dragon ball but when vegeta arrived in dragon ball z he pushed vegeta out of the way and stood as the new favorite. GO VEGETA!!!

Vegeta is awesome and easily my favorite character in DBZ. My only complaint is that the creator makes him get his ass handed to him too often to make Goku look even stronger when he finally defeats the big bad guy. Or Gohan in the Cell Saga. To be fair though, even when he gets owned, he typically helps destroy the main villian, he's just never really to one to ACTUALLY kill them.

@PervyOkami ok true he does kick buus butt....but then goku wasnt really giving it his all when he fought fat buu and gohan WAS kicking buus butt BEFORE buu transformed...after that its all goku and vegeta...vegeta with giving goku enough time to form the spirit bomb and goku when the namakes wish for his full strength to come back and is able to push the bomb back to buu (i know your argument is going to be that it wasnt him alone but it was still goku that gave the final push that won the day)

We see Ultimate Gohan owning Super Buu, we see Goku SSJ3 just matching up to Kid Buu, and Vegeta got owned so badly in the fight the only thing keeping him up in the battle was his pride. Goku has also always claimed and knew Gohan to be stronger then him. He has said so in the Cell Games and has always said it. If you want I can accept the fact that Ultimate Gohan and SSJ3 Goku just might be up to par.

@Zeikobu ACTUALLY vegeta was sent back to earth to help fight buu after he absobed gohan, BUT he was still dead...hence his halo lol. near the end of the kid buu fight his was brought back to life from a wish of the dragon balls. But he was technicaly dead this whoe vid lol

@goroworo No, you've mistaken me. I didn't mean LIFE life, I meant life by like ... Example: goku had so and so days to "live" while he had his halo on earth. He wasn't really living, but was on earth. Thats what I meant. Plus vegeta didn't have a body before coming to earth so thats another point.

@pacior92 At the end of Buu when he killed himself to stop Buu he did it all for his family Goku everyone he changed from having a 100% obbession with revenge in about this time he fell in love with his family and thats why he fought was to protect them he never showed it but that is why he was fighting and what gave him his power to keep Buu at bay

No shit! But one of the reason was for his son and family. Don´t think that he is selfish. He is just hard headed. He was treated to be like that since he a pure saiyan.
