if you are on 3.1.2, then this jailbreak will work for you, but it will be tethered.

that is an ipod touch 2nd gen, since it is 8GB, but it is still tethered, which means you have to rejailbreak every time you boot it up.

Blackra1n will not work for the 3.1.3 version. There is another jailbreaking tool for 3.1.3, but if you say that your 3.1.2 jailbreak was tethered, I'm guessing that the device you have won't be compatible with the 3.1.3 jailbreak.

Just itunes helper.exe from task manager

now load Blackra1n and click Make it Ra1n

then wait for the device to turn off and hold Power and Home button then when the apple icon shows up let go of the power button then hold the home button and keep holding it right till it changes to Geohot picture.
