The real Nathaniel Ayers is relatively normal coherent person. Why does Jamie Foxx portray his character as a more mentally ill than the real Nathaniel, as well as exaggerating his speech impediment? Is he trying to win another Oscar?
wow okay. i was just at midnight mission, you know, the place where they filmed a majority of this... a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for the homeless.. and that is actually how it is out there. especially sixth street. its all horrible, but its real life, and its contained. the government barely funds, so that's what it's turned into.
ekydami, you need a reality check buddy. thats what real life is

I hated this movie. It was NOT about mental illness, nor about classical music.
It's another UGLY film about bloody religion, and a journalist who is completely immature and self-obsessed.
I went home to shower. And what about the appalling conditions for the homeless and street present people of LA? This movie could not have been worse.
Good grief, worse than rubbish, I'd rather swim through a pool of razor blades, at least that is honest.
He was not "mentally disfigured", he had a mental illness called schizophrenia. He was no way as scary as Lopez the journalist, he was the really mentally ill character.
"It's been this quite life altering journey which one doesn't usually expect written between the lines on a call sheet...".
