A comparable Boxster would cost more because a comparable Boxster could run rings around this car. Just like he said, this car has a harsh ride and yet doesn't handle all that well, whereas a comparable Boxster has a wonderful ride and handles as if it's hard-wired into your central nervous system.

That review was fundamentally terrible. Not only did I learn nothing but some basics, but those basics plus "ride quality" was the entire reason for the unclear conclusion, which was highly negative. Never even mentioned the car's cornering, the double clutch 7-speed, or the BMW-ness of it, which is probably the most important aspect of the car to a potential buyer. Also the fact that it's better than it's competitors, ask Clarkson.

Mercedes,BMW and Audi knew damn well there were several parties in Germany wanting a speedlimit on the autobahn, not to mention the tons of reports in the 80's how several accidents were caused by excessive speeding. So by limiting their cars to 250km/h they reached a "gentleman agreement", which also showed they "cared" about not building ever faster cars to the public.

The reasons were to stop rivalry from producing ever faster cars and they were smart enough to realize that could only end in the German government either imposing speedlimits on the autobahn or passing a harsh law, like the one they have in Japan where every single car sold there is limited to 112mph.

It's not dumb at all. People can easily remove the speedlimiter

I just priced one out on BMW's website. With all the options one would get on a car like this, such as premium package, metallic paint, navigation, leaving many of the options like the cold weather package out, the car came to $73,000. Why would anyone in their right mind buy this car at that price when they can pay practically the same amount give or take a couple thousand dollars for an M3 Convertible? Doesn't make any sense to me.

It is because these cars are fantastic but out of reach for me, i like to see them in action for more than 90 seconds.
