  • Thank you for showing me your butterfly . It is beautiful. I sang two songs for butterfly, but these songs are about love. I remember I was searching the photoes on the web for my video and saw a lot of pretty pictures about butterfly.

  • Thanks Yuan for stopping by to see my little friend Juniper.

"Butterflies are self propelled flowers." ~R.H. Heinlein

    You sing so beautifully!

  • Thank you again! I like butterflies too. Welcome you to hear my more songs.

  • I love butterflies. I think they're really fairies disguised as insects.

Of course, that could just be this week's upcoming full moon...

  • I totally forgot about the full moon until i saw Mark's latest vid, LOL! Faerys indeed...and setting one free after watching its evolution is truly a magical experience.

  • thank you rupszze! she was indeed...i hope to have the opportunity to raise some more butterflies this summer...

  • omg this is beautiful.......what a wonderful thing to experience.....and who is handsome and fuzzy in the background there....what a beautiful dog...what breed is he/she might i ask?

  • Thank you ojosdelaluna ~ it was indeed. That would be my puppylove Rowan. He is a mutt, so will always and forever remain a mystery! However, best guess = lab + collie + pointer.

  • mutts are the best...i have one myself....i have found unyielding friendship in dogs throughout my life. i'v had some particularly special encounters with butterflies as well...especially since my mother passing...they are fascinating and beautiful...i've seen this kind you have in my garden many times...they really do demand your attention with their beauty. i'm anxious to see more videos from you when the time is right for you to upload more. best wishes....sara

  • Thanks Sara. Its interesting that you mention your mother's passing, because i had an experience closely related to my father's sudden death. We had once raised and released a monarch butterfly together ~ he loved them always. Unfortunately, we had a huge fight just shortly before his passing. The very next summer i found an army of monarch caterpillars in our garden. It had never happened before, nor has it ever happened since. I do believe it was his way of communicating his forgiveness to me.

  • I remember a little shop in the mountains where they had butterflies in boxes with a clear part on top where you could display it forever. Is that a good thing or bad thing?

  • i think that you're so unbelievably beautiful, that i'm just going have to kill you so that i can hang you on my wall and gawk at you forever!

myself, i'd take it as a compliment...

  • Perfict first video!!! Your voice is so beautiful!! Keep these comming.

  • thanks for the encouragement david, you're really sweet.

  • Hey! It's so trippy to actually hear your voice Chrysalis. Wow! You made a video. Who would have ever guessed it would be about a bug!! :)

  • thanks AJ. i was drunk on awe, but - whatever, i'm over the sound of my own voice after listening to it a few times. oh - just wait until the buggies wake up, i'll be out there getting me some new pets. no shock value whatsoever, huh?

  • come on Chrysalis- next time -you need to show some cleavage!!! HA HA HA!!!

  • OMFG! *giggle*giggle*

i'm gonna blame that one on the moon...

    strap yourselves in, folks!

  • yep its the moonshine!!

  • ok. youtube has cyberfleas again and it won't let me reply directly to doctorofmindmd's comment , so mark -

thanks, you're too sweet. i'm getting there, if ever so slowly...

  • Very beautiful. Everytime a butterfly crosses my path I have to stop and look.

  • thank you. it always brightens my day, whenever i spot one. i feel truly privileged to have had the opportunity to witness juniper's evolution and to have experienced her choice to be my friend - those who run screeching from the insects world have no idea what they're missing out on - bugs have the most playful spirits!

  • chrysalis unbound

  • she is absolutely stunning; what a beautiful wing display; i can't wait to see them in my own backyard this summer.....

ALSO good to hear your voice!!

  • thanks. do you get swallowtails in your garden then? they are very easy to raise as long as you can set them free once they emerge. unfortunately, she couldn't/wouldn't wait for spring - sigh...

  • You'll have to explain instar to me in a message...lol..

  • an instar is really just a young caterpillar - they go through several stages before they form their chrysalis.

  • OH my gosh, It was soo nice to hear your voice!!! How sweet of a video!

  • thanks numshine. i sound really silly though, because i was just unbearably excited that she was ok and i was in AWE.

  • When did she actually emerge or whatever the word is? LOL

  • eclose or emerge. t guess it was about a month ago. i originally found her as a wee instar last summer, hiding underneath a solitary wildflower.
