I see this train every so often at W.Brompton it is a really creepy train. From the way it looks and what it carries to the way you still hear it squeaking even though its miles away :-o bloomin prang.
They Test those Container to destruction by running trains into them,...The Containers are VIRTUALLY indistructable,....Proly the safest way and also 1 of MANY transport points involved in the total Transporting of such waste material.....Just a thought.
Ironically, in the UK it seems the more high tech a train is the squeekier the brakes are. Eurostars are awful, and Pendolinos and Voyagers are bad to.
It's to do with the brake disks, in the UK we've always used composite ones, wheras the French and many other European countries like Steel disks, which are much noisier.
So you just walk right up and film this? And there's no security at all around this thing? Wow.

The cask that the spent rods are carried in is sealed with concrete. Makes that car weigh a TON...well, many tons.

so as the train doesnt fail, eg they can just shut one loco down and use the other

just incase 1 breaks down, then there's another to carry on the journey rather than leaving a wagon of nuclear waste stranded on the main line
