  • hi, I need some coments to improve myself, I created some guitar songs, say everything you want, it will always help me : this is my chanel /user/trytobuildsomething?feature=mhsn

  • what a legend. See the vid with joe bonamassa, jimmy vivino, etc.... joe is amazing, but the others played those large, complicated solos, and sumlin barely play a few notes and trashed them...

  • He sounds like my grandpa :) Good times.

  • What an artist -- love Hubert Sumlin, he MADE Wolf, bless both of them

  • Awsome I saw this in concert twice with pinetop Perkins, just amazing

  • Bill Cosby and Jimi Hendrix rolled into one ladies and gentleman. Hubert Sumlin is a national treasure.

  • who didn't like this video!?!? Its quality

  • The only shame about this is that the guitar is not pluged...

  • What kind of idiotic fucking moron would give this vid a thumbs down and WHY ?

  • @loungelizard5000 Amen brother. They shouldn't allow Justin Bieber and lady Gaga fans to access this kind of video. peace:)

  • hes got my respect for all my hole life

  • There is nothing more interesting than an old blues man just talking about his life. I hope I'm just half as cool as him when I turn 70.

  • The CD Album is out! You can check it out on my channel.

  • someone asked me if i saw him in philly (the question was 2 years old). no, i saw him in the jimi hendrix experience in portland, or with jonny lang, kenny wayne sheperd, and some other legends. they all stood back, with their egos in check, while Hubert Sumlin took the spotlight. Awesome.

  • First two great guitar players I ever heard was John Lee Hooker and Hubert Sumlin: Three chords, two dudes, one love!! hahahaaa =)

  • He is so freakin sweet old grandpa, the way he speaks is awesome. . . Great one loved it. . .

  • Wow, Be an honor to sit and listen to this man.

  • Not bad for a septagenarian, who had a lung removed a couple years earlier. The man is a legend. Unfortunately, since he wasn't the front man (and they were all the wrong color for the mainstream at the time) too many Americans have no idea how greatly he contributed to the evolution of American (and now global) popular music. Thank you, Hubert!!!

  • @OmniphonProductions

I wish I could hit the like button a thousand times for this comment. No truer words have ever been written!

  • Hey thats a real Guitarist there! Check out my Mom on You Tube "Gospel African American Female Lead Guitarist".

  • like him a lot....hes funny...reminds me of Eddie Murphy telin about James Brown how JB (RIP) has been singing for 20 years and how he has no idea what's he signing about...same for Hubert, hes been speaking for 4 minutes and I cant make a word of what he said...

  • Charming old bluesman, can anyone recommend a particular album or works he played on?

  • i think he played some sort of gibson les paul goldtop with p90's

  • Hey, thanks for the reply. Your right about the goldtop, but what I was wondering about was the guitar he played in the fifties, which I figured out was a gretsch k-161.. Thanks!

  • he playes lots of bartolinis and they are so hard to find they are an italian brand

  • im not an expert, but i've seen Kay (similar or like Wolf's) and a Les Paul body, maybe Gibson, maybe not. hope this helps some. God bless Hubert Sumlin. Thanks for everything, Sir.

  • HES SHOOOOO CUTE!!

    i love him

    ....aaaaaaaaaaaaw

  • well for a 93 year old its great..! ;d

  • I refuse to believe he's 93. He doesn't look it at all.

I think you would find that it would sound a lot better plugged in. Electric never sounds its best unplugged. Then again I can't hear it very well. No doubt he's a whole lot better than Johnny Winter though. That guy looks like he's in terrible shape. If he's still alive.

  • Rock it!

  • Subtitles would be nice

  • "Hubert Sumlin" A living legend!

  • Very good guitar, please visit me.

  • Last night, I went to se The "Jimi Hendrix Experience."

There were some fantastic bluesmen there. Some of the names I remember are Jonny Lang, Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Hubert Sumlin.

But, when Hubert Sumlin played, , it was a whole

different kind of Blues, and tears came to my eyes.

You can see Sumlin in "lightening in a bottle,"

    or buy the CD.

    happy listening.

    doug

  • did you see the jimi hendrix experience in philly, freeman?

  • I don't know who this man is, but I love to hear old men talk about old times...reminds me of my dad.

  • He is one of the greatest bluesmen to come from the Welsh Valleys. His real name is Owen Evans

  • What a great interview....thanks for posting this!

  • Thanks for posting,seventhhourblues.

  • awesome!! he only played for about 15 seconds in this video, but how much it revealed, man. just a small part of blues theme, a piece of cake for him, still there was great feeling in it. a lifetime's playing is behind this 15s

  • this guy is a true legend. this is what musics all about havin the feel and making yourself feel happy see hes an old man and he plays music and he loves it. if you saw a different old dude that didnt play music he would probs be at home yelling at kids on skateboards gotta love the blues

  • God, what a great old guy

Point is my grandpa died when I was one and my white grand pa is country aussie version of a hillbilly and he makes me think maybe black grandpa wasnt that cool.but still cool at the same time. pap sponged on me for three days for grog, called me gay, a boong, then had a bar fight at 68

  • ya sir ya sir
