inappropriate, shaky and way to airy for a second movement of a german classical concerto. try vieuxtemps, it would suit the way you're playing a lot better...or maybe not.
Viola, the shy rose of the orchestra has no reason to be so!! She has a beautiful character & truly sexy voice: now soulful, now sweet, but always warm & seductive!! Like many violinists I was a bit snooty about the viola, until I took one and played it! And then, it was Love at First Touch!! The viola is so much more forgiving that the violin! I just love the velvety tone. It still sends shivers up my spine every time I play it or hear it being played! No wonder so many composers were violists!
@JiangxenPeter As a violist for 11 years that also teaches violin, I love reading things like this where our lesser known instruments are discovered and loved. I feel like printing this out and taping it in my case to remind me to not play so quietly and shy. Thank you :)
@BiteSizedRose Hey! You're most welcome. And I'm really chuffed to get a nice comment from someone. Thanks. Do please stick it onto your viola case - it's time the Shrinking Violet stops hiding her light under the bushel. And MAKE THE PRINT BIG!!!! :)
flute is woodwind, perhaps you just mean something like clarinet or an english horn... I am just starting viola. I would recomend it because there are far less of them than violinists. ;)
She plays well but would play better with a really good viola. I would have liked this movement played with more legato. It seemed disjointed at times.
@altonoir1 Haha, when I went to music camp, I heard jokes every single day in and out of rehearsals... some quite mean (even comparing violas to coffins). Then the conductor made everyone give the viola section a standing ovation after a beautiful soli section and it stopped. :-)
yay! i play viola to! it is such a rich instrument you CAN'T NOT LIKE IT!! it was soooo beautiful and graceful. i just had to have my mom and dad hear it! im trying out for the chicago symphony youth with that peice and you gave a great example. i am not as hafl as good!!) lovely thank you for putting it on youtube!
esra selam kemanı bende senin kadar calmayı cok istedim ama olmadı bu arada soaydın benim sayadımla aynı olması hemşeri olduğumuzu sanıyorum sana sanat ve kamanınla başarılar dilerim
congratulations! very mature interpretation, phrasing, nuances, everything the highest level. and such musicality and technique, pure joy to watch and to listen to. how big is your viola? it looks very big..
this is very inspiring to watch. I wish i could play with such musicality and passion. thank you for sharing. i must ask...how are you able to play so musically with your bow. i have such a hard time having contrast in my playing. i think a lot of it has to do with what i'm doing with my bow.
You only play the notes with the left hand. You put the life into it with the bow hand. So many of us develop the left hand and ignore the bow arm..yet look at the very fine players. They have extremely good bow arms.

!!you putted your finger in the point!!
the bow is like the breathing of the singers.........sometimes we play a non straight arm but is more important the music that the good looking.......we have to sing the notes before play them.........
Whenever I walk around with my viola, people automatically assume it is a violin. Once someone guessed again after saying violin and said cello......
Things like this (the video) make me love my instrument even more.

She's good.
I think it's a little too flautando and light all the way through.
Sounds so beautiful though.

No, I think too much legato wouldn't be better...remember this is a classical concert.. In fact she plays very well, I like it very much... Bravo!

She plays so loud...I have to do a concerto, but the problem is projecting my sound. An excellent player.

This is SO beautiful ! -so romantic and rich - it gets right to the core of my emotions ! - why isn't Hoffmeister better known/played more often ??!!

People are racist towards violists, that's why. Or instrumenalistist--whatever, people don't appreciate the viola.
It's part of a long history of abuse and neglect... j/k
