I'm in love with this song and I've too discovered Phil as a songwriter and singer! What a great song for a long hot summer like this... Longing for october here.
if you once thought these albums were great, and then all of the sudden you "stopped pretending", that has nothing to do with the albums. you're just bloody retarded.

Wow, this is phenomenal. Miles better than anything off the last two Radiohead albums (with the exception of Nude, but that was already ten years old). Selway is now writing great songs, while Thom Yorke farts around with bleeps and can't write a half-decent song to save his life. Time to kill your luvvies and walk, Phil.

I doubt Phil's going to say that his current work is better than Thom's, even though it is. Thom hasn't written a good song for a decade... the last was the Pyramid Song, clearly. Duds like There There and Jigsaw Falling Into Place just don't stand up against older classic like Street Spirit and Karma Police... you know this, as does any objective music fan. I wish Radiohead were still good too.
Actually, There There is my favorite song of all time. To say it's not as good as Karma Police or Street Spirit isn't wrong because it's your opinion, but to say that the newer Radiohead songs are 'duds' is misplaced. Its a different age, muisic changes, as does tones in said music.
Go to a Radiohead gig and compare the crowd reaction for There There to Karma Police. Ask the bricklayers down the pub on a friday night which was the better song. Play both to a random friend.
Feel free to keep the bleedin' obvious swept under the carpet, though. It's all opinion, right?
While you're completely entitled to them, and my arguments are for the sport of argumentation, your opinions are some of the most ignorant and seemingly ill-informed I've read. I truly don't know where to know where to begin to rebut. How do you think that RH could release sub-standard music in good conscience? They don't do it for the money...just because you're not keeping up with their changes doesn't mean they should slow down.
My opinions are informed, as I own all of Radiohead's albums. I'm not saying that Radiohead deliberately set out to record awful music. They still attempt to write good music, but sadly they are creatively deceased. I understand that Radiohead's early work meant a lot to millions of people, and they want to love the new stuff. Five years ago, I'd have told you that Kid A and Amnesiac were great albums, but I decided to stop pretending. Their decline was painful to witness, but I'm over it now.
In that case, you state things pretty matter-of-factly about subjective topic. Just because you have a distaste for their latest work and feel it is creatively lacking, doesn't mean that they are, in fact, creatively deceased, and thus should disband.
With everything they've done recently, I think it's unfortunate that you can't enjoy their music anymore.
@tobyobrie i know!! they should just keep using guitars and not expirementing so much!!!!!!!!!! you opened my eyes i can see the light they arent creative, the only true creativity was when radiohead was a britpop band!!!!1 omg you are so smart
anyone that says that "There There" is a dud, is himself a dud and should keep the garbage that floats around in his head from coming out of his mouth.
Beautiful song.
