  • mine had alot of side to side play....i played around with the pivot already....if i tighten it all the way then i can't flick it....if i losen it, it will start to have play....

  • @6leafdom I just checked and with the knife fully opened and locked there is the slightest amount of side to side play, but nothing that would affect performance. You mainly want to be worried about vertical play.

  • @ZippoThisKnifeThat i sold that knife already. but i dont recall having any vertical play.

  • haha @ 4:30 i checked my phone i thought that was me

    great review!

    im subscribing!!

  • @15TheKing15 lol yeah every now in then my vids pick up incoming txts.

Thanks man more to come and lots to see already!

  • If you want to buy benchmade you need to use your telephone now. Most dealers will give you something very close to the old price since they can technically sell for whatever they want, its what they can advertise that is restricted.

  • yep heard all about it on BF. Ridiculous imo. I don't like BM enough to take the time to call a dealer to talk down a price. I will stick to the aftermarket for BM's. Still want a 940 ;]

  • Damn you greedy money loving Benchmade bastards!!!!

  • agreed. That's why they never get my business! hah Will never buy direct.

  • It's about time you got something other than a Spyderco, lol! I love this design. I've had my eye on it for a while now but just haven't bought it yet. Great review! Looking forward to more.

  • lol yeah I know I know here and there ;]

  • I dont buy too many benchmades, but I just got a morpho 32 and I love it :p

Anyways, it still sucks that Benchmade has chosen that route because they are a big player.

I have a 940 and a mini griptilian I use as my beater knife and I still want to find a 42, but I'm not interested in a lot of their other knives really and they are really pricy.

Anyways, good review, look forward to the caly 3 review.

  • that's awesome! have yet to buy a quality Balisong. Eventually haha may have to settle for a Baliyo for price reasons...at least its something to flip

  • yeah, just thought I would get them while they are around online. They are a bitch to find anywhere, but its my first quality balisong and its a world of difference lol

  • ps. jealous!

The 940 is the only other BM design that really appeals to me.

  • what? WHAT? a benchmade! that is like sacralige! :D

i have a couple of benchmades but i would have to give the nod to spyderco. i have held a 710. big knife.

  • lol I know know hah and we all know where my head nods...24spyderco-2BM

  • dang man that is a lot of spydies! BM is okay like i sid i have a couple but spyderco is just better IMO.

  • how is the look up i hade 2 that one and a cpm-m4 and had so miney probeims with mine i sent it back 3 times 4 blade play and my blade was tuching the liners and the m4 has some play to

  • Mines solid, no play any direction. I had read that recent F&F has been below par on the forums. They losing alot of customers bc of MSRP as well.

  • i got mine about a year and a have a go and every axis lock knife that i have seen that was used hase hade play and i even had a 940 close on me i could spin wack in on my hand and it would fall so im gonna stick with spyderco and kerskaw

  • hah well like stated in my vid and evidence from my vids Spyderco still is and will my favorite company

  • BM all the way, cant beat quality and fit and finish in my opinion.

  • Where did you here about the store thing?

I can't find anything on it.

  • On Blade Forums. Apparently they will only sell to esteemed online dealers. And after posting a thread about it ppl have told me that the online dealers who are still selling also sell them in their actual store location.

  • Very cool vid, Man!

The 710 is definitely one of BMs best, in my opinion. Glad to hear that you like it. Thanks!

  • about the studs. i dont need a thumb cut out on my knives. thats the way i naturally flip open my knives. with upward pressure instead of outward pressure. i push my thumb inwards toward the handle building up pressure then with one motion release it and it comes out super quick. i cant get much speed pushing outwards.

  • It's different than that of a spyder hole thats for sure. The knife being so big/heavier it's slower than the spydies. Nonetheless super quick for what it is :]

  • pretty jealous! gonna pick one up eventually.

benchmade makes an outstanding knife. but they are greedy as hell. how much money does a person need to make when you already have millions... its ridiculous. benchmade as a company. SUCKS. but their knives are great!

  • Agreed. This knife really surprised me. Being BM I didn't expect to like it as much as I do. Although I got a terrible impression from their Red Class as far as steel. 8cr13 suuuucks. $70 Red Class knife should be better.
