I heard other reviewers talk about the "Formix", too... but I don't remember reading that word anywhere. How do you spell it? (I'll use amazon's search inside the book thingy)
@Turtleboi491 but it isn't in "Ender's Game", right? I don't remember the buggers ever being called anything apart from buggers. Maybe "Formics" was used in the later books?
@Turtleboi491 I did a search inside the book on Amazon, and it isn't in the book at all. It's fine if it's used in the other books, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy ;P
When he beat Stilson to win "All of the battles to come", he reminded me of Grubbs from the Demonata because he said the same thing when he was first learning to fight the Demons.
i really like this book, i'm reading it for summer reading (it says its the authors definitive edition, i don't know why.) I'm almost done, i have 80's page left. It's starting to slow down. I really feel for ender, and i just love this book. It's probably my favorite, even over The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton ( my previous favorite book)
@JubJubkiller09 In the original four book, Speaker for the Dead came after Ender's Game. Not that Card has released another, Ender in Exile fits in between those two.
@JubJubkiller09 Actually, it goes: Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, Shadow of the Hegemon Shadow Puppets, Shadow of the Giant, Ender's Exile, Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, Children of the Mind, and then there's Ender's Stocking and a War of Gifts as extras. Don't try to correct me about the Ender's Exile+ parts AFTER the Bean books, because there were certain characters in Ender's Exile and beyond that were only introduced in the Bean books. Ender's Stocking and War of Gifts are extras.....
ive just started reading this book because of the much hyped reviews, im on page 100 so i cant comment on it yet, but im not that impressed so far. My favorite book that i have read is papillion.
The plot felt just a little rushed at the end, I was really expecting for the story to progress over to Ender's Shadow, but they finnished it with in 3 chapters
It takes place in three different locations. It starts on Earth and then follows Ender into Battle School (a space station) and then follows Ender to Eros (an asteroid in our solar system). There is also a parallel story that takes place on Earth, mainly in North Carolina.

@whothehellisthat It's spelled Formics. It's the other, more proper, name given to the buggers.

@whothehellisthat I believe it shows up in Ender's Game. If I remember correctly, and I may not, Mazer Rackman calls them that at some point.

@Turtleboi491 near the end of the book, the characters begin to call them the "Formics" to show more respect to the dead race.

8? What exactly do you find wrong with the plot? How could it be "stronger"?

Cool review. I loved the book and the series too.
You can roleplay Ender's Game at Ansible Moo which is also a lot of fun.

@28145Greenlantern
If you like the book you can try roleplaying Ender's Game at Ansible! Pretty fun since it's all based in Battle School.
