i'm surprised at how well the civic did against that TransAm because those are RWD and can just fly through gears without slipping, but FWD cars are a pain in the ass to not peel out in.
i dont know for sure on the trans am but on my shift maro its impossible to acctually shift into reverse. it locks you out some how, i dont know the specifics.

I am a chevy guy, I work at a machine shop, but you cant honestly be that dumb... one of my neighbors has a beat old honda crx that he takes out to the track at PIR here in oregon. He is running 12s with that thing and cant of dumped more than a few thousand in in for his motor swap.
I have heard weed eaters that sound more aggressive than that civic. I hate any car that sounds like a weed eater. Fart cannons, rice burners ... whatever you want to call them. No car should be allowed to sound that awful. I wish they'd all get pushed over a cliff or get dumped into the ocean.
What is with you people and driving cars in straight lines... As long as you put some bolt ons on the car, any car can pretty much go fast. It is a pointless endeavor.
I've done it before with a T56 (camaro/t/a 6 speed), Reverse is all the way over and up, getting too excited or shifting way too violently on a 3rd or 5th gear shift can result in slipping all the way over and up, accidentally grinding reverse hehe I've done it a time or two
@Cory1X Well then your reverse block out is either broken or you are way to "exited" when you race. Clam down dude, don't break the shifter. I've done it once when trying to get to 5th, but that was the first time I had ever ran my Camaro hard and the Block out was broken along with the 5th gear syncro. I rebuilt it and never even came close to missing a gear since!
And yeah, take that weed eater back to your front yard dude!
@KingZamora93 Not sure what was up with the reverse lights, but a T56 is hard to shift into reverse by accident. That, and he would have fucked something up. So I'm sure that wasn't a reverse shift.
@KingZamora93 You really think he engaged reverse and the car kept rolling forward with no ill effects? He simply moved the shifter to the reverse position without engaging the gear. You can do this on lots of manual transmission equipped cars as the reverse lights are triggered before the gears are engaged.

I think it is a better idea to start from a high platform. Meaning if imports are your thing go with a STI or EVO. A vtec si civic which i'm sure wasn't, runs 16's and what with 100 shot 15s. IMO just be happy you have a 1.8L that is great on gas buddy!

How is it cheating to swap in a new motor? V8 guys do it all the time... You just don't see the younger guys do it because it's not as easy to swap out a v8 compared to a l4

Import guys annoy me, if two guys start a build 1 with an LS1 the other with a honda or whatever and each gets 5000 to spend on the car, American Muscle will win every time as long as the honda guy doesnt cheat and swap in a diff engine or just CRANK the boost up just to get the car to run for a couple days if at all before blowing up. You start with more, you end with more. Most the time import guys mod their stuff they just forge the engine and crank the boost leavin the rest of the car shitty
