No doubt it was a nice play, however, I have been in the exact situation many times as a pither and the really amazing part of those types of plays is that the pitcher doesn't even have a clue what has happened until long after the ball is already in his glove. When the ball is hit back up the middle like that, you just react. It's one of many circumstances that displays just how amazing the human mind can be. Very few people would have missed that.
