DoctorElk - Yea, the one about James is real - its found in Foxes book of martyrs, the one about the chinese girl is found in the updated version called Jesus Freaks. Also the one about william tyndale is real... I'm not sure about the rest.

That's interesting. Yeah I would think of that verse as well. I was just reading my old Western Humanities book and there was a section on the persecution but very unexplained but that's expected out of a secular book

Is the story that Shai tells about James in the Bible? If it is can anyone find it for me? Because the only thing about James death that I could find was in Acts when it says Herod had "James the Brother of Jesus slain by the sword" That is right before he arrests Peter.

He doesn't get the facts from the Bible but from outside sources of contemporaries at that time who wrote about who these people were killed. It's how we learn about most of the Apostle's deaths.

I couldn't tell you the exact books, but that's the source.

The verse in Acts that you are referring to is talking about James the brother of John. THe same James in Jesus' inner circle (Peter, James, and John). The Bible does not tell us how James the brother of Jesus died. [Acts 2:2 He had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword. ] Peace

WOW.... this song challenges me as a Christian. Living in America, I don't have to deal with people actively persecuting me but what if that changes,..... will I be ready to die for CHRIST. I pray that I will be strong for Jesus..... God please continue to prepare me.
