I'VE heard back in Afg ppl would go to da shops & wud ask 4 a TV in which Ustad Awalmir will not sing-It was meant as a joke & to say that Ustad Awalmir was an old goose & sucked big time

Now After his DEATH his songs r sung all over the world by Afghans - No1 recognizes the current Afghan national anthem - BUT evry1 stands with their hands on their heart when his songs r played in tv (figuratively speaking).

Afghans only appreciate a gr8 Afghan after he/she dies - & cry over our miseries.
