is there any way to make a drums only version of a song, like many people make vocal only versions? or at least a version where the drums are much more audible then the rest of the music.
Not sure what the sample is but if you join any crate digging community and post the link to the vid in their discussion forum and I'm sure someone would easily be able to identify the sample.
whats the name of the sampled track? dont make me find it myself, because i will, and i will spend valuable time finding it that will make the time i have for making music minimal, and that means i will cry and feel depressed, and when i'm depressed i just lay in my bed and eat snacks, and that makes my bed messy and full of chips and that itch. please Sir Flex, make my life a bit easier and tell me (or upload) the track you sampled :) (not trolling, just trying to put a smile on your face:))
someone's momma sounds like Oprah ;) Srsly tho, this video is a great explanation of the application of low-pass and high-pass filters for music werk. A little shaping/cleanup after the filtering, and the original track would become a whole new feature - for decoration, rhythm, or however. Peace dat!
instead of spending ages dicking around with a filter you coulda just used an equaliser to boost the frequency range of the instrument you would like to keep, then turn all the other frequencys down with the gain knob, then apply a gate (which can be found in the rv7000 reverb unit) this (When done correctly) will definately work & will be twice as fast, the only issues you are going to have are with samples where more then one instrument use the same fequency range, eg. brass and vocals.
you suck bro, fuck the filter off, if you need a tutorial to remove drums from a sound u may as well quit making beats. select one of your middle parametric bands (not the shelf ones) and set the Q setting to fine (turn all the way to the right) then turn the gain all the way down (so a really thin section is cut, then while the loop is playing sweep through the frequency range until you find where the instrument your cutting sits (until you can hardly hear it) then widen the Q & voila its gone
@treblemc do that to get rid of your snare, Then do the same to cut out your hihats (do a cut somewhere near the high end to remove the hats) then do a low cut to remove the kicks, basically what you have done is reduce the volume of the frequency's that the snare, hat & kick are sitting - THEN use a compressor to boost the overall sound and put a gate on it so that any sound below the gate's threshold cannot be heard. this will remove any tiny sound of the drums that may still be heard
Nice video but it sounds like you were wrestling something while you were recording

I can get alot of the lowend out of a sample by using a compressor with a lowend EQ boost (or envolope filter) sidechained to it
with a fast enough attack and release setting you can eliminate the kick and snare indavidually
check out videos about sidechaining
