I grew up on Avenue A and 7th Street, moved away for a long time(20 years) and have returned because I love the character of the neighborhood, though I feel like a stranger because most of the people and the shops that were here are gone because of the way-higher rents. I like the improvements and the night life, but it is a sad reminder of the past for me......

I grew up on Avenue A and 7th Street, moved away for a long time(20 years) and have returned because I love the character of the neighborhood, though I feel like a stranger because most of the people and the shops that were here are gone because of the way-higher rents. I like the improvements and the night life, but it is a sad reminder of the past for me......
