This issue has more to do with farmers who want to protect their industry than with safety. If you look at the population that is farming in Korea you will find that these people are quite aged. Kids in the streets with candles aren't likely to buy up some land in the country side to start their own cow farms, this is only contributing to the decline of agriculture in Korea. And how do we guarantee that shops arent selling US meat as Korean or Australian beef. There is no system to prevent this. First of all, as a disinterested observer living in Korea, let me tell you, the protestors may have had some verbal arguments but as in pretty much any other country, it's the right wingers who're being violent, i.e. raiding party offices, KBS, Etc. Lee's government is using the police, the Prosecutor's office and the other higher authorities to threaten anyone who has an opinion that differs from theirs.

What you don't understand is that most of the people demonstrating don't even know well about the disease itself. They are all young adults out for some fun and recognition and seriously if you look at the population count, ten thousand is a very vocal *minority*. This issue has more to do with farmers who want to protect their industry than with safety. If you look at the population that is farming in Korea you will find that these people are quite aged. Kids in the streets with candles aren't likely to buy up some land in the country side to start their own cow farms, this is only contributing to the decline of agriculture in Korea. The first case of MCD in the US was from a CANADIAN-born Cow. It is ILLEGAL to feed cows in the US with cow meet. I've come across NOT ONE non-Korean reference that goes against the scientific consensus on vCJD. I gave you non-governmental stats, scientific explanation of vCJD. CJD is even more prevalent than vCJD. How many cases of CJD have you heard of in Korea? NONE. Even in US, there's not ONE case of vCJD from US beef consumption. You have higher chance of getting hereditary CJD than vCJD. That's not just probability but fact. If you have any stats, ref's let me know I'll gladly look it up.
