  • One of my favorite jazz songs performed by koreans.

God I love my country :D

  • Does anyone know if the haegeum ( the two stringed instrument ) and the gayageum (the behemoth) use traditional western notation?

  • I had to give this a look because I love to look at music from different angles. There are good parts of this arrangement, like the vamp after the B section of the song. I wasn't a fan of the even-note, rhythm. In my opinion, this song is ALL about the rhythm of the A section. I wasn't a great fan of the pianist's comping style. The violin seemed to just not be able to fit in with the tone of everything else. I have to give this a thumbs down, but I DO like OTHER records of this group.

  • i like this version a lot... and the traditional instruments used are my favorite.. i know the violin like instrument, it's erhu.. but the other one, i'm not sure.. what's it called? (1:55 - 2:07) ..i would like to learn how to play like that..

E DÁ-LHE OS GRINGOS QUE PAGAM PAU XDDD

  • I actually really like the eastern instrument take on the song. Both the comping and instrumentation add a nice flavor to the song previously impossible to achieve with Western instruments. Nice!

  • Thanks for the nice words.

Whatever the reason is, we really enjoy to do the way we do anyway. You can check out many others at our site. Best wishes~

  • i liked the version, but i didn't felt the "jeitinho brasileiro", or "brasilian move".. i think that only the brasilians know's how to do it.. but it was great, i was looking for this kind of jazz for a looong time..

  • omg i know this song!

  • thanks for this, thats such an interesting version. im learning this song and this makes it more fun. were you part of it?

  • Yes! I love the gayagum. What an awesome fusion!

  • yeah! now that's an awesome version!

  • Yes, I wish we had Jobim with us now. We especially want to show him our persevering arrangement.

  • If Jobim were alive today I'm sure he'd be bobbing his head to this rendition.

  • Right on guys! Great tune, great performance.
