  • how long does it keep?

  • U the man :)

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN, BUGS WERE REALLY PISSING ME OFF NOW THE TABLES HAVE TURNED !

  • i have little holes in my spinach, will this work on them as well? also wont the soap be absorbed into the plant leaves? thanks! great videos btw

  • Can I use this before the fruit shows? Will it scare away bees?

  • awesome !!! intelligent

  • Very easy, and smart! You help put the power back in the gardeners hands. No need to horrible chemicals. Thanks for this video!

  • Good job on your video I liked it very much!

  • love your videos i will buy your book. thanks

  • can i use chile powder

  • what king of soap do you use

  • @lhondel17 any soap works, organic if possible

  • @theproducegarden Maybe use Lye soap if that will work. you can make that yourself too from animal fat and ash. wisegeek.com/what-is-lye-soap.htm

  • When I lived in the Pacific Northwest I used about 1/4 cup of regular ammonia, about 3 tablespoons casteel soap (dr. Bonners is good) and about 2 gallons of water. It killed earwigs, slugs, aphids and who knows what else. My leaf lettuce and other leaf crops grew huge too. Ammonia nitrate is a fertilizer.

  • When I was in the Pacific Northwest I used about 1/4 cup regular ammonia about 1 tablespoon of soap and about 2 gals of water. The ammonia seems to kill earwigs, aphids, slugs (the small baby slugs that you can't pick up) and my produce seemed to grow larger. :-)

  • The cayenne killed some tomato leaves and the corn drooped. I wonder if it was the soap? The cucumbers, radishes, carrots, and onions did alright.

  • @saintveil I'm no gardener (yet), but I imagine the soap you choose does matter. A soap with minimal chemicals would probably be best for the plants (and you). Maybe lye soap or some other natural soap?

  • @cliftut - Member "webcajun" says that his dad used this stuff 50 years ago. He would buy the pepper and garlic oil and add soap and water. For me, it didn't help with the corn worms at all; seemed to get worst.

  • What can you use for squirrels or mice?

  • @ishahnluv Outdoor cat's work pretty well...

  • Love your organic pesticide.EZ to make

  • does it work for tomatoes i need it buy 6/4/10 please comment back before

  • Thanks, I will try it on my collard greens. BTW can I substitute cayenne powder instead of dried chili pods ?

  • What kind of soap did you use?

  • Cool, my Habanero is loaded now, their fire outa keep the bugs at a good distance!

  • Fantastic! One question would this ward off aphids?

  • Loving everything except the soap. There has to be something natural that would serve the same purpose. 5 stars anyway :)

  • @FoodOrFail

    Yukka Extract ;)

  • @FoodOrFail What's unnatural about soap?

  • @MrJivePirate sodium laureth sulfate- skin irritant and causes hair loss

  • @WuTangghost0007 ok so that's not good for you but how is it UNNATURAL? people have been making soap from plants and animals for thousands and thousands of years, and while the bulk bars you can buy at costco certainly have man made chemicals in them, it's not hard to find soap which is totally natural. Furthermore, I doubt that this sodium laureth sulfate is in soap in any real concentration, because I've been washing with cheap soap for years and have neither hair loss nor skin irritation.

  • @MrJivePirate disease takes time. so does hair loss. and genetic mutations due to prolonged use of your cheap detergent soap. so when you or your kid gets diagnosed with eczema. remember your soap was only a nickel. and now u gotta buy a lifetime supply of lotion.

  • @MrJivePirate i agree people have been making soap for thousands of years but only after world war 2 the soap industry changed from natural to chemical for large scale production. saying you dont think it is in large form means you have no idea about the precentages of the sodium laureth sulfate. that is just part of the problem with soap. the scents they add and not your old school essential oils they are man made and highly cancerous

  • @WuTangghost0007 cite a peer reviewed paper

  • @MrJivePirate why am i already graduated. i went to your favs video's. pretty sweet songs.

  • wat type of soup

  • Great stuff!

  • Does the spray leave any hot or garlicky aftertaste on the fruit that's hard to wash off?

  • one more thing can it be dawn dish soap

  • does the pepper have to be dry and can i use bell pepper?

  • I liked the smell...I hope it works!

  • I've been watching all your videos and really love them , & appreciate your informative and easy-going style. Thanks for sharing your knowledge like this. You're inspiring me! :)

  • i missed the instructions but wow, it looks fine. do you only spray it all over your plants? and what's the advantage to using this over commercial sprays and fertilizers... will it work as well?

  • Thanks, I am going to try it on my plants.

  • great idea!

  • Awsome!! Thank you. Exactly what I was looking for!!

  • can I use store bought dried chili, Dr. Bronnors liquid organic peppermint soap, and store bought garlic? I am very new to gardening, and these are things I have available right now.

  • Should be fine in my opinion. The only potential problem I can think of is that the mint may reduce the range at which the garlic is detected. But that may be my human perception as mint is a good smell for humans and is often used to cover garlic breath. From what I've read the soap its self is meant to repel by taste and it can make a bug sick. Organic soap would raise my comfort level with eating the food too.

  • Enjoying your videos a lot!! I was wondering what kind of soap? Looks like bar soap, but can liquid dish soap, or are you using like the organic goat soap or something?

  • Please can you write down the ingredients for me?

I am deaf and I can not hear what you say and in the video the sun is behind you , but I will like to know how to make it!

  • He said, chop up chillies ( red peppers, I think). Soap and garlic. Add warm water and shake.

    Wonder if it really works.

  • also, when you are done mixing, let it sit for a week or two and then you can use it.

  • Thank you very much for helping me!

    Have a nice week!

  • richy is doing a poem for you salma and the teacher tink he`s in love

  • should work well for slugs and snails

  • Would this be good for young seedlings that I am putting into my garden. We have trouble with snails. Would this be effective or would something else be better? Thanks !

  • i have found your post very useful and intersting.I cant wait to put it to practice.Keep it up

  • wow, informative I will try it on my garden this season.

  • It won't make the veggies/fruits taste bad? Thanks for posting.

  • a slight change of taste.. if at all...

    or starvation...

    hmm...

  • Way too easy, but it always is when you know how!! Thanks.

    Eva.
