if your personal goal is to seek truth... then you may come to a myriad of conclusions. atheism isn't the only answer one can come to. atheism is one of many.

@bananymous1 yep, ill concede that there is no way i can disprove god. to say so would be a lie, because the idea of the traditional, invisible, higher being that exists somewhere outside this plane of reality is an unfalsifiable statement. but this doesn't make it correct. so to prove this, you must have some evidence that does not apply to any scientific method. you can only be convinced of god through personal experience and introspective observation.

@d9thwonder God cannot be proven or disproven. If he could, there would be no need for existence. Everyone would believe and would not have to make a commitment to love. If God simply revealed Himself to us we would have no choice but to believe in Him and thus, love could not exist, because love must be chosen or it is not real. If God could be proven, we wouldn't exist.

Common sense and human reason point to that possibility as being very real, not to mention, science points the probability of there being a God. But the only sure way to find this God is to seek truth. If you honestly seek the truth of this life, you will find God. He cannot be found in a test tube just as he cannot be disproven.

Did u know if the earth was 1 foot closer or farther from the sun it wouldn't exist? Big Bang says earth is like 4 billion year old and the sun is losing 5 trillion tons per second. That means 30 million years ago the sun would have been so large it would have engulf the earth. The earth is so precise if you change 1/10% of it, it would not exist. If you're not going to believe in God at least take some physics classes and educate yourself on nonsense

For accuracy's sake, Islam doesn't necessarily say that there are 72 virgins for guys in heaven. A better translation suggests that it's 72 pure white raisons of wisdom. It also says that the best martyrdom (for which you should hunger) is a long life in service to Allah.
Wisdom is far more worth living for than an excess of spouses is worth dying for.
@WingedWyrm Yes, but there is hardly anything accurate in the multiple (purposeful) mistranslations of all the different religious texts (either to moralize or rally violence)... there is no accurate modern translation for any religious texts, mostly because a lot of the phrases used at the time have no direct modern translation since many of them were written in languages now dead or are meaningless in modern times. Some of these phrases are ambiguous to modern dialects.

@SuperEz08 Unlike religion, atheism doesn't lie about being able to explain anything - theism makes up random stories to explain "everything," most of which can be refuted with a little bit of logic.. Most atheists (not all) point to science; while that still doesn't have all the answers, it gives answers that are MUCH more thorough than anything you'll find in religion. There's nothing wrong with saying "I don't know."

So I'm not going to believe any book that tells me Moses lived to be hundreds of years old when people now can't even make it to 100. Or that a man and a woman were married and never had sex.
@kotsossc21 Many Christians do accept the facts that science has uncovered because it's hard to rationally deny such evidence, but these same people also make positive claims of truth without the hard work it takes to get evidence for such claims.

@bananymous1 yep, ill concede that there is no way i can disprove god. to say so would be a lie, because the idea of the traditional, invisible, higher being that exists somewhere outside this plane of reality is an unfalsifiable statement. but this doesn't make it correct. so to prove this, you must have some evidence that does not apply to any scientific method. you can only be convinced of god through personal experience and introspective observation.

If God simply revealed Himself to us we would have no choice but to believe in Him and thus, love could not exist, because love must be chosen or it is not real. Did u know if the earth was 1 foot closer or farther from the sun it wouldn't exist? Big Bang says earth is like 4 billion year old and the sun is losing 5 trillion tons per second. That means 30 million years ago the sun would have been so large it would have engulf the earth. The earth is so precise if you change 1/10% of it, it would not exist. If you're not going to believe in God at least take some physics classes and educate yourself on nonsense

For accuracy's sake, Islam doesn't necessarily say that there are 72 virgins for guys in heaven. A better translation suggests that it's 72 pure white raisons of wisdom. It also says that the best martyrdom (for which you should hunger) is a long life in service to Allah.
Wisdom is far more worth living for than an excess of spouses is worth dying for.
I'm still an atheist, I just like accuracy.

@WingedWyrm Yes, but there is hardly anything accurate in the multiple (purposeful) mistranslations of all the different religious texts (either to moralize or rally violence)... there is no accurate modern translation for any religious texts, mostly because a lot of the phrases used at the time have no direct modern translation since many of them were written in languages now dead or are meaningless in modern times. Some of these phrases are ambiguous to modern dialects.

Most atheists (not all) point to science; while that still doesn't have all the answers, it gives answers that are MUCH more thorough than anything you'll find in religion. first of all i don't take every word of the bible seriously. i know the snake that spoke to Eve was one of God's angels Lucifer sent to test them with the tree of knowledge, which was not a tree of knowledge, but actually a test of obedience. and oh yeah, Lucifer the !!!fallen angel!!! was not cast out heaven. He's not going any one. God wants us to figure out the errors in the bible and sort them out for yourself.

Look at theories on how the earth came to be what it is- you'll see that the theories change with what's discovered. The origins of the universe are NOT KNOWN. And they can't be determined with close-minded "truths."

I think this is just as bad as a video of a christian trying to convert me. I don't like being told I should be a certain thing or act a certain way. Theism is different than Christianity or any of the other religions you mentioned, by the way.
