@zaffdoc thats too bad. what ever you do if you come across an electrical fire do not breath the smoke. dont breathe any smoke. but especially not eletrical. it will screw up your lungs more than a gas fire smoke or wood smoke will
@zaffdoc im not sure if its toxicity thats the problem. All smoke is kind of toxic unless its chemical and then it can be really toxic. But with electrical fire smoke. The smoke itself still remains electrical to a certain point. which breathing that in will allow the smoke and the static (i think is what its called in that form) can scratch your lungs on the inside. Irritating it more, causing more damage, ect and it takes longer to heal. Ive experienced a lil" electrical smoke inhalation
@Silvawolf100 >>>---> Thanks for the info. I know that most people who die in fires die from smoke inhalation. I guess electrical based smoke makes it toughter to get over if you don't die.
@sgttweeter0910 >>>---> Do a search on YouTube for: The Engines of Shreveport's Fire Station 11 and you can see all the engines that 11 had from the beginning to now.
I belive that is an old American La France(ALF) Beautiful truck I know its not a 2011 E-One or anything but those at one time were the pride of their fleet I still love them haha lets you see what we came from and what we used to use for the fire service. I would turn that into a parade truck Awesome.
deck guns are nice and all, but for a small town with limited water supply their pointless cause they waste more water. with a charged line we can control the water flow, and fire
WHAT? Lots of fire lots of water. HIt hard and fast. If you need to set up relays then so be it..Its not an interior firefight so go with the big guns and put the fire out.
theres no perfect fire dept out there, it dont what color or plan of attack they use all fire fighters have the same responsebility that is save lives and property
YouTube sent my first answer without telling me. A second incident with a very snall chem spill brought out 3 company's, heavy rescue, rehab, hazmat, mobile comandd/comm, 2 medics & B/C on first alarm with the first rig on scene in 4 minutes and they had the neiborhood evac'd within within 10 minutes of call-out. Did I mention that all personel are belted in, wear earphone intercoms & put thier SBCA's on enroute? They're off the rig ASAP. PDX runs mostly ALF's and some Pierce rigs.
glad i don't live in shreveport, they are slooooooooooow, use dinky lines, i mean really, a booster line on a structure fire? and where are their aerials at these fires? damn slow to ring the second or third box, damn slow to attack, and whelens and top mounts suck, especcially if you've got a Q but aren't using it. what's it there for? these people are aclass 1 dept.? hard to believe.
Our feelings can be hurt You know! LOL. BTW, where are you from? You guys that criticize never say where you are. I am sure that all fire department leaders would like to know, so they can model their fire departments after yours, for it must be one hell of an organization that does everything perfect.
what was the cause of the fire? thats what i want to know.
