Is because i don't have cellular service? I was able to download free text with voice from Pranger and it work fine. However i prefer using google voice. what aim i doing wrong. Nice Video. Expand upon call-routing more and more call specific calling examples. Like: minutes used on my mobile carrier applies or what if I only have a lower end calling plan that cover me regionally and then I get billed for wandering etc....And, how would billing then apply. Lastly, have you gone Android yet?

I call my friend almost every day in Thailand, about 4 hours each session. I use Vonage and it's a flat 30 dollar rate. Google Voice would cost about 217 Dollars if I replaced my vonage... very poor... I'm disappointed in google voice, it should be free all over the world. If they put like a 10 second commercial before each phone call, that would be better. Have the advertisers pay for our calls.

The google voice number is the only number you're going to need. No matter how many times you change your cell phone carrier's number your google number can be tied to that number and any other numbers. Also free SMS compared to AT&Ts limited SMS plans with outrageous prices.

Nope. iTunes blocked the app. But if your phone is jailbroken there is a third party app called gv mobile.  It is pretty slick! Check it out. I downloaded it from cydia I believe.

They are using this particular technology to improve their voice to text translation - you can even "donate" a translated voicemail to them for quality improvement purposes.

All I was saying is that most of my communication these days involves Google's products and that most of them (now including my voice mails) are on-record.

Ok, giving someone your Google number if you don't want them to call your cell, I get it. Other than that I'm not understanding the greatness of Google Voice. Most providers include long distance and txt on their packages already, and people are using home phones less and less so I'm not sure I understand the functionality. It's nice to have your voicemail transcribed to txt but how often do you need that?
