It isn't a Rip-off. This Instrument is inspired by Sheldon Dingwall and his Instruments. At the time i was going to build the Bass there was no Place here in Germany where to get your Hands on a Dingwall. Later i tried some Dingwalls at Musik Schmidt in Frankfurt. I like them very much, especially the Lee-Sklar-Signature. But i do not like the Super J Modells. So i'm glad to have my own Kind of a Fanned-Fret-J-Style Bass that fits me perfect. All the Best from Munich...
It wasn't about the different scale length (compared to my current Bass) why i don't like the SJ's. They do not feel right for me. Most important, the space between the strings an the body is too big for me. It's hard to describe, but with the Lee Sklar Model i felt very comfortable from the first second. Also i was looking for a more traditional J-Sound than the SJ's can provide.
36" to 34" for having a bigger choice in strings compared to a 37" H-String of a dingwall (wich was the Inspiration for this one). As a surprise all standard DR-Strings (besides all the super-long-scale-sets) are perfekt on this Bass.
@GinChillers Thanks for your reply. I had a Dingwall 6. I must admit that the string selection (or lack thereof) was a concern for me. Awesome bass, though. I'd own another in a heartbeat. Your bass looks and sounds great, and good thinking regarding your choice of scale lengths. Good luck!
Wirklich ein klasse Instrument! Gibt es noch mehr Videos mit diesem Bass?

@GinChillers Hi, why don't you like the Super J? I think the shorter scale on the higher strings makes perfect sense...
