it is part of the game and it can be very vital depending, Its a good adition if you consider cheep shots like sticks to the head are significantly reduced because players decied to just duke it out face to face instead of just hitting someone in a bad way to get back at them, so alot of potential injuries are reduced thanks to this component of the game.

That's what they do in hockey. If two guys have a problem with eachother, they duke it out. The refs usually don't break it up until one (or both) fall to the ground, they end up hugging and waste time or one gets really fucked up.
