The Nabucco pipeline project (backed by the EU/US to cut out Russian interests) has become too much of a risky venture to rational parties (regardless of American bribes and other means to twist arms). Already three times over budget, in order to turn a profit, the pipeline would have to pump 30 billion c/m of gas annually. Azerbaijan can only supply 8 billion. Put simply, there just isn't enough gas for the line. Those who know, understand.
