According to my few wiccan friends a wiccan in their tradition has the goal of living a balanced life and of doing good in the world. They view the world as a gift that we have been ungrateful for. Rede means "advice" so it´s not mandatory, but for me, is like what every religion in the world should follow: "do whathever you want, be happy but never hurt anyone" is simple, and I belive that most of masters of the universes as Buddha or Christ lived their lives in following this principle. I´n not saying that they were wiccans, but I thik that´s what most of religions need today, more love and self expression, less repression, pain and hate...

@YouShouldBeSpankful wiccan teaching vary depending upon the traditon you come from. I am not wiccan myself but from my understanding there is at least one god and one goddess. According to my few wiccan friends a wiccan in their tradition has the goal of living a balanced life and of doing good in the world. They view the world as a gift that we have been ungrateful for. I wish I could be of more help.

I absolutely agree with you 100%. It seems to me that despite being so devout, there are an extremely large number of intolerant Christians. Those who take to violence to prove their point. Those who believe that theirs is the only way. I truly feel sorry for them. The goddess is the only way, for me. That is my choice. But I don't condemn those who do not share my views. People attack us because they are scared. The Christains I know are scared of their God because He threatens them daily. "Obey me, believe in me, sacrifice yourself to me or you will burn in hell". He obtains their love through fear. It is through His threats that they hate us.

@SuperGhost1000 You do realize that that same "God" you are referring to has ordered the bashing in of babies' heads (in Isiah), treating women as property (to many places to list), sent plagues to kill off innocent people in his "chosen" group (you) because of a mistake of the leader HE CHOSE (again, multiple, multiple times), and "his word" has been changed and added to and promoted to make it easy for the rulers of that time to control the people. Why would anyone follow him?

@originalyaoilover18 - We (pagans) have more of an understanding of christianity than they have of paganism. This is were the fear factor comes into it. Those who fear "God" have not stepped out to research our beliefs, out of fear of offending "God" and being punished and not going to heaven. They also fear the unknown and are quick to scoff and criticize and call us evil. Hang on . . who is meant to be evil, pagans or christians? Who is doing the name calling?

@SuperGhost1000 - We are grateful and we do celebrate life. Our aim in life is to live in harmony with everyone and everything without violence. We do not preach our lores, we do not insist that we are right and you are wrong, we do not encourage war/violence. We have no fear of death. To live without fear and guilt is a huge burden off our shoulders. Our god/ess accept us for who we are. My god/ess love me for who I am unconditionally, I am a good person, I harm none.

Not trampling on your beliefs but i think the only reason for people following false gods is because of fear and intimidation of The True God. Also if you break the law or what not and go to a judge and say im a good person would it excuse you from punishment?

I am not afraid. Do you fear "God" coz you overate at Christmas? (as glutteny is a sin). If "God" is so good, then there is no need to fear, he would love you unconditionally. God should not have created us with a heart or a brain, coz these two organs influence emotions; which is responsible for evil.

@toparsechic The bible says God is good not Nice. Also he created us with those things because he wanted us to love him on our own. Dont forget that this is the same God that knows all and knew satan would turn on him but still gave him a chance and free will. Sin is responsible for evil not the brain or heart.The brain is used for thinking and the heart is used for love. I like this music.

@SuperGhost1000 It's pretty comical that Jesus was quoted as saying "my God is not the creator of this earth but the one who created him" which is truly a paganistic ideal... and also consider the fact that the stories in the bible were written hundreds of years after Jesus died by people who wanted others to join their religion... and before you waste my time by trying to answer, let me warn you that I am an ordained ALL religions minister, and have studied way more facts than you ever will.
