  • Well it's sad because of her fate. what those young sailors have been through is horrible itself. what will you do when you've rescued 100 of them in the water and you're suddenly informed to leave the area because the fear of u boats leaving hundreds more of them young germans behind? that must be a terrible sight to see.

May God bless all the sailors friends and foes in the north sea. but what an honor to have serves in either navies

  • Not sad at all dude!

    Hell-I just build 1/350 kits!

...you are WAY out of my league!

  • SCRATCH BUILD!!!!!! Just don't give up! These models are the ABSOLUTE HARDEST TO MAKE!!!! It's not a sad hobby- DONT' EVER SAY THAT!! some of the BIGGEST and BEST models are SCRATCH BUILD!!! The models in the 1960 "Sink The Bismarck" movie are ALL SCRATCH BUILD!

Its going to take time.. A LOT OF IT! Just stay at it! ‹(¬_¬)›

  • when is the launch date?

  • Hey how is the bismarck progressing, i to am building this wonderfull ship and i am now close to installing my rc gear and gettign her ont he water, i shell put vids up when that happenes

  • how is that a sad hobby? i great to see other people building models because a lot of people dont try to spend money on models. so good for you pal =D

  • AHAB; so how are you progressing ? curious as I have not seen anything new posted . but what you had done looked fine . I am building the static model and it's my first one . doing issue 83 at the moment. tricky, some parts are out of size and may neeed to be modified. I like it so far. I will post photos soon .

  • is this the bismarck advertised on tv to build weekly at 4.99 per week?

  • yes

  • The problem with the Radio equipment is depending on where you live depends on what Frequancy is legal. In the UK and as far as i know it is 28 and 40 Mhz. 35 Is for aircraft only and it is illiegal to operate surface vehircals on it. There is also now 2.4G available.

Im America i believe the frequancys are about 100Mhz.

  • I was hoping to sail her too. I'm not the most experienced model builder. So not to have the equipment and information needed for the convertion is going to be beyond my skill range if I continue.

Don't get me wrong, I want to build this model, and it is a very good quality publication.

Talks with Hachette are continuing at this time.

  • I learned that the radio gear will be offered in issue 23 and will cost $325.

  • Hi Kiwiboy, how are u coming along on your Bismarck? U say that u might lack some experience. How could I help you? With the RC stuff or the motors? If u have trouble with the details of the superstructure I would advise to collect as many actual photographs of the ship and study them intensely, even make sketches. Use thin Styrene sheets for the details, not wood. For my ships I only buy the railings, ladders and stairs, I handmake everything else. Need help? Email me. Where do U live?

  • Well that really annoys me. I was hopin g to sail her at some point. Guess ill be sourcing my own radio control kit.

  • Hey how are you? Im building the Bismarck too. In NZ were up to week 9. Bit behind you as i can see.

  • I just suspended my sub to this magazine at issue 16 and have complain to the NZ Commerce Commission regarding Hachette's offer of radio gear and information to convert this model. Contrary to Hachette's advertising they have told me directly that this offer is not available to those outside of England and Ireland.

  • True govderment to busy paying the EU 19 million pound a day which is like 40 million dollars to be botrhered about out once great navy.
