  • Def Leppard in good form.

  • where was this at? and isthere a dvd 4 this concert

  • Awesome!

  • Rick Allen basically has an entire drum kit under his left foot - MIDI samples of the acoustic kit, so what he would have played with his left hand he now plays with his left foot. He uses various hi-hats and X-hats to allow his left foot to do other things.

No doubt about it, the guy is quality

  • the drummer is inspirational

  • Comment removed

  • eu vi esse vídeo na época.. não acredito q 20 anos se passaram...e o leppard continua ótimo , mesmo sem o saudoso Steven Clarck..

  • this is the kind of music i grew up with

  • NOW THATS A CONCERT!!

    lets see that happen today....

if you can tell me where, ill be there!

  • @RockMusicTalent4Ever there are rumors of a Def Leppard/Poison 2012.true idk YET

  • @1973cloninger that would be awesome if they did

  • 3:05... nuff said!

  • love these guys since i was ten im 39 now awesome cant believe how ricky plays with one hand got to give it to him awesome drummer of all time

  • Very nice

  • @4evaLedZeppelin Thats what im sayin he cant drum for shit

  • @sexy7941 who cant???????????????

  • @sexy7941 Every song has a certain sound to it and Rick Allen, the drummer, is #7 out of 100 drummers.

  • Spit out that gum Joe lol

  • @ jackupnow. To answer your question its just a laugh hehehe

  • Much better studio band than live band. I've never been impressed with them live.

  • You can't hear Vivian's part at all.

  • @yesorlando05 he plays the rhythm guitar in the verses

  • @sexy7941 He does pretty good for a guy with one arm.

  • @DanimalRegina Boom Bahhhhh i can do that with my mouth boombah boom bah boom bah...

  • I prefer this version with viv more than the one on mirrorball, but I prefer the in the round version with Steve the most, after Steve they lost most of their rock spirit, and with viv they got more of a pop sound.

  • @JetFireROCKS1

Well steve clarke was a really unique guitarist, so they also lost that special melodic sensibility. Phil collen has some of it too, but his melodies are a little more generic than steves. I think steves contribution is what made def leppard unique and sound like no other band.

  • @JetFireROCKS1 Vivian has no fire on stage or in his playing...ur right on...

u look at video now of him..he just stands there...its about the money for him.

no passion..Steve Clark lived to play those songs live!!

  • @jigdrum1

exactly! Steve put all his heart and soul and passion into his music! he didn't play for money, he played for the experience, he played for the music, he played for passion! nobody in the whole world will have as much talent in his music, the closest person is Phil Collen or Hendrix.

  • See thats what i love is that he sounds exactly like he does oon the record even though this is live and he can actually sing something that todays music lacks

  • singing with a bubble gum... interesting

  • I LOVE DEF LEPPARD........................

  • I love to watch Joe chew that gum ;)'

  • i love Joe's pants ;D THE MULLET IS SEXY.

  • You're so hot!

  • they're n.1...all over the world...DEF LEPPARD

  • seen them twice love them for life

    ROCK ON

  • A question to all reading this .......at the end of animal recording he says ??? Please let me know ps remember

  • i wasnt all to much into joe's hair style in adrenalized

  • Joe's hair here makes him look pretty leonine, eh? Always thought he looked better with long hair.

  • man i have a lot of Def leppard songs on my MP3 player. at least 100 songs or more.

  • i surprpised the concert was never released on disc

  • @GONECRUISING72 it's freddie mercury tribute concert, they played only 3 songs

  • @mouloudo.... i meant the whole entire concert jus think of all the money it could have raised for the cause

  • @GONECRUISING72 yep.. there was a dvd but no cd... probably due to copyrights, they couldn't put songs from various bands on one cd, everybody would have wanted a share, and nothing would be left ( sry for my english)

  • @mouloudo excellent point i did not think of that

  • @mouloudo where are you from then ...... ( sry for my english)

  • @GONECRUISING72 France :)

  • @mouloudo your english is fine better tehn most americans believe me..... :-)

  • @GONECRUISING72 thank you :)

  • @ padawan007 Yeah man Spinal Tap played this show! It was funny because they had to wait 5 minutes before their sound was in check. They were awsome aswell!!

The best act was Guns N Roses by a mile. Them and all of the Queen guys. Metallica rocked too. Extreme were awesome...the list goes on.

  • man, I can't tell that Viv is playing at all, only can hear Phil...

  • 0:54-0:57

    .. i fainteed ..

    LOVE U SAV !

  • Hey!! 1:02!! The stage is the other way haha

  • I can remember watching this concet when i was 6. My life changed after seeing this and the memories come right back to me. The actual feeling and atmosphere i experienced in my old house, incredible. Never in this world will there be another concert like it. Guns N Roses, Elton John, Metallica, Queen, Plant, Def Leppard and Spinal Tap.

  • @gogsy60 what spinal tap was also at the show? i thought that they split up around end of the 80's

  • can anyone tell me where the original footage of this comes from, because it wasn't on the original VHS tape of the Freddie Mercury tribute released in the UK and I would LOVE to get my hands on this!

  • Excelent performance.....almost 20 years from these date!

  • re: Neg. Elliott comments,

He sounds good to me here, for someone who for crisakes is seemingly

a natural baritone. The guy belts and rarely wusses out. These guys songs are mostly all in in the upper registers vocally and NOT easy to sing. Try it some time two hours every night for ten months in a row. He owes no apologies...imho.

  • @432b86ed I agree. I'm a tenor. But when I sing it I'm in my upper mix to pure head voice as some of the upper notes are C5. It's not easy.

  • Joes voice, as usual, is awful, and eating chewing gum? How cool!! They should have moved on into the 90s, not stuck to the 80s for this show, without Steve, they went into decline.

  • @daviebluenose I would say that this was a rebuilding time for the band! they were still in shock after Clarkes death..true! Elliotts voice is shot to pieces here from years of screaming! from then on his voice was electronically enhanced but still wrote great songs!! Have to give them credit for facing adversity head on!!..

  • @daviebluenose i've heard better from them, yes. vocals are terrible on this. GUM? WTH?! i've heard better form college bands doing tribute. this vid is an embarassment!

  • Joe looks really hot in this MV~~

  • Sound was iffy at this show for nearly all bands that went on before Queen; I was fortunate enough to be there and, with the exception of G'n'R most of the early acts were a little on the quiet side. There' s a clip on here of Extreme's set, and front-of-house PA was almost entirely missing for the first few bars of their medley, which can be heard (or not!) on the original TV broadcast but seems to have been sorted for wherever these rips came from.

Sounded worse on the TV, if anything.

  • not sure how anyone can compare Def Leppard to Dragon Force LOL totally different styles ..I mean DF makes me feel like im on fkn speed...Def Leppard is smooooooooth like pouring some sugar on me and lickin it off,lol

  • el baterista es un gran musico hay que aprender de el que a pesar de esa discapacidad que lo imposibilita un poco no se deio por vencido un gran ejemplo de superacion...

  • rubbish

  • So pissed this ain't on the DVD...

  • I love how the drummer sets up his kit. He has some sort of snare device he plays with his left foot, and it frees up his right arm for cymbal use. Not much tom work, but I got alot of respect for the guy. I doubt I'd last a day drumming if I lost an arm. The guy's an inspiration to all musicians.

  • @TheDustyspears I know you posted this like a year ago, but I have always said the same thing about Rick Allen. Keeping the beat for 25 years after the accident. True inspiration to all

  • @TheDustyspears the whole band is an inspiration on me both musically in life. they teach me to never give up no matter how bad things get. plus Steve Clark (guitarist 1978-1991) is my idol in guitar playing

  • @TheDustyspears ABSOLUTELY< well put.

  • best band in the world no question

  • This was the 1st concert without steve right?

  • @cliffthelightning first without Steve, but first with Vivian Campbell

  • @banshierocks Amen......they look good even now if you ask me! Especailly Sav!

  • wow check out sav's butt @ 0.56....damn now that's shakin' a nice ass, but he stills doesn't beat Joe....that's my love and always will be....i have loved him since I was 10...and I am 30 now.....he looks so damn sexii here....Joe Elliott 4-Ev'r...take me, tame me, make me your animal, show me, stroke me, let me be your animal Joe.....love to rock your body baby!!!

  • and i and i need and i lust ANIMAL!!

  • a wild ride, over stony ground. such a lust for life, the circus comes to town.

  • @twoo57 Play with one arm!

  • @anbujaked OKAY SMART ASS

  • I love this version of animal better i have no idea why. Don't get me wrong i love steve but wow this is great

  • Comment removed

  • I think they had a BIG soundproblem on this track - no rythm guitar, no bass, no bass drum - i can only hear Phils guitar, all vocals and very silent drums....

I have seen them 3 times and normally they sound fat and are a brilliant Liveband - unfortionately they weren´t here in germany for years.......

  • I miss Steve R.I.P. man hope your rockin up in heaven

  • i remember watching this live as a child.. my grandma recorded it to tape for my mother and i watched it over and over and over. I remember trying to pause it on the guitar player when he makes the face at the camera. good times.. :(

  • Could somebody send me an address to download this video from net? I Can't find it nowhere. It's great video of great band!!!!!

  • U can download it from youtube, but u first need to download jdownloader or youtube dowloader...

  • I hope the sound technician got a good scalding for his pathetic preperation!

  • Steve Clark is Def Leppard

  • @wsdasda YES..not Cambel but STEVE

  • Why, whats with the anti Russians?

  • what an amazing band and song!

  • Hmmmm.....I think Joe sound a LITTE bit tired on his voice. But it´s not so strange,he has surely screamed a lot in his career! But I think they´re awesome anyway!RIP Steve......

    DEF LEPPARD 4-EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Phils guitar out of tune, too bad! :(

This fucking rocks though! I fucking love Def Leppard!

  • perfect

  • DEF LEPPARD 4LIFE !

  • Why is Joe pointing his mic to the crowd? No one's singing along.....strange

  • it seems that way, but really they are singing along, we can't hear it. Like if you watch GNR playing Knockin on heavens door, EVERYONE is singing along, but u can't hear, it sucks actually, makes it seem really pathetic.

  • The Greatest Band!!

    Steve Clark - RIP

    Отличная группа на все времена!

    Рик Аллен - круто!!

  • fuck russians

  • Comment removed

  • OH GOD JOE!!!! please spit out that gum!!!

  • Probably because Phil is the better guitarist of the two.

  • You know I think Viv is a btter guitarist than Steve but is as a person he looks like a dick....So I don't think much as Steve as a guitarist but as a person he looks like a lad I would go to the pub with and have a few...that's my imho.

    The Best !!!!

  • rip freddie and steve

  • respect for the drummer

  • top of the range, one hand punch machine.

  • @jortkruidhof and his bandmates, you think after the accident they would have been like, look mate................ lol

  • @jortkruidhof Surely! The drummer is great!

  • why would someone even compare def leppard to faggotforce

  • Freddie! Forever!

  • i do love def leppard A LOT but...not there best performance there. i would say their best is in 1988 with the in the round performance :)

  • You say hanah montana-I hit you in the face!!!

    legend!!!!!!!!!!

  • @megabatakero69 funny...my last name is Flowers, and fav band is Van Halen!!

oh, this is pretty week for Def

  • @ouluvme2 ...I heard Joe Elliot in an interview sometime after the Freddy Mercury Tribute concert say that "we were pretty rusty at this show" etc..He was not pleased with how they performed and I myself as Lep fan watching on tv that day thought the same thing. Guess all bands have their bad days like all of us can.

However, later in the concert when Def lep played with Queen doing the song "Now I'm Here" and Joe singing with Queen and Slash on "Tie Your Mother Die" were awesome.

  • @Rockywaves73 ... understandable given they'd just Steve barely a year ago and, having only just released Adrenalise and recruited Vivian into the fold, probably had only just started rehearsals for the upcoming tour. Definitely Joe sounds flat in places and it sounds like Rick missed a few hits... something goes awry in the final 16 bars too... snare craps out... might have been a technical issue with his kit.

    They still rock though!

  • a men man

  • @megabatakero69 I AGREE lml lml Long Life Def Leppard and Good Music!!!

  • GREAT!

  • What a send off Freddie got

  • it has been said before....

  • What a clever little boy.

  • what's it got to do with queen songs?

  • Guitarist with red shirt looks like Lead singer in DragonForce, ZP Thearth xD

  • Fuck Dragonforce. They're not shit compared to Def Leppard.

  • no shit sherlock, DF is gay , they can't even play the songs they've recorded ^^

  • df = dragonforce, love def !

  • @RespectElTri how bout, just enjoy both bands and dont worry about whos "better"

  • @RespectElTri you know i only know one song by Dragonforce that i sorta like. Def Leppard, will always be my #1 though.

  • @RespectElTri They're not shit compared to a lot of things brotha.

  • and these guys were competence to Maiden when they were signing a contcract with EMI?

  • as if uve got more talent, u shitless idiot!! Joe elliots harido is way better than urs and hes got more talent thn ull ever have

  • I think they should have done this song and Photograph...I can't believe out of all their hits they chose the two they did.

  • i love the bass drum

  • Thats a sea of people

  • I think this is the best performance of Def leppard I have seen online. Better than the last time when I saw them which I thought was good also

  • if i believe correctly, from wot i read, rick was havin problems with his drums durin animal and lets get rocked, but got sorted for now im here

  • Joe is so hot!

    Oo

    DEF ROCKS!

  • You certainly have that right, hon. I love this song! "CRY wolf baby. Cry tough. Gonna hunt you like a a-a-animal!" That just makes shivers go up and down my spine! And Joe chewing that gum! I've never seen a rock star chew gum while performing. But it works for Joe. I never thought I'd say chewing gum looks sexy, but it sure does when Joe does it. Maybe because everything the man does is sexy. Get the dictionary. His pic is beside the word sexy!lol I'm going to see them July 23rd!

    Yeah!! :)

  • i want him to give ME mouth to mouth...

  • Joe is looking super hot here. Best I have ever seen him, actually. You're in for a great concert, angel. You will have to tell us how it was! :)

  • Yep I agree. It will be an awesome show. I've never seen Poison live, but I know what awesome shows Def Leppard puts on. Man, I can't wait!! I'll be sure to give everyone a full, detailed report!

  • wellllll hellooooooooooooooooooo there!

  • Yes Angel...Joe chewing gum is sexy as hell.....HOT!!! I want your dictionary...lol

  • Wait! I'm going to take that dictionary to the concert with me and see if I can get him to autograph it by the word "sexy". What do ya think? I'll let you see it!lol

  • Oh please do!!! hehe...remember you promised me a play by play...

  • wonder if it's aspergum, which is gum made with asprin, to help with the throat pain from singing 3-4 nights in a row and all the sound checks, I've seen him singing and chewing gum before. And you're right, sexy. There is just something about his mouth, love to see him talk and his voice ahhh, so fine.
